The Anker USB-C to Lightning Cable 541 (Bio-Nylon) is a 0.9 m braided charging cable for Lightning iPhones, iPads and AirPods Max, made partly from plant-based nylon. Anker rates it for up to 30W of charging, says it can charge an iPhone 14 Pro to 50% in 30 minutes, and tests it to 20,000 bends. It is MFi certified, and because the charger end is USB-C, it needs a USB-C charger or port.

What the Anker USB-C to Lightning Cable 541 is made of
Anker builds this version of the 541 with a bio-based nylon braid. According to Anker, 46% of the cable’s outer shell and 34% of the connector housing are made from bio-based nylon, which cuts the share of petroleum-based plastic in the cable. The packaging is 100% recyclable paper printed with soy ink.
In Anker’s photos the black version has a tightly woven dark grey and black braid with matte black connector housings, the Anker logo on the USB-C end and a BIO BASED mark on the Lightning end. A braided jacket tends to tangle less than a smooth rubber one, which helps when the cable lives in a bag, a car or a drawer.
Charging speed: what 30W means for an iPhone
The Anker USB-C to Lightning Cable supports up to 30W, and Anker says it can charge an iPhone 14 Pro to 50% in 30 minutes. Anker does not name the charger used for that figure, and the real speed is always set by the phone and the charger together: the cable allows fast charging, it does not create it. Pair it with a USB-C Power Delivery charger to reach the speeds your iPhone supports.
Anker also notes that older devices such as the iPhone 7, the iPhone 6 series and earlier iPad models charge at limited speeds. On those, the Anker USB-C to Lightning Cable still works, just without the fast-charging gain.
MFi certified for Lightning devices
This Anker USB-C to Lightning Cable is MFi certified, Apple’s programme for third-party Lightning accessories, and Anker lists the certification as audited in October 2022. MFi certification means the cable is built to Apple’s Lightning specification rather than an unlicensed copy of it.
Anker lists compatibility with the iPhone 14 series back to the iPhone 8, Lightning versions of the iPad Pro, iPad Air and iPad mini, and AirPods Max. Anker does not publish a data-transfer speed for this Anker USB-C to Lightning Cable, so we do not quote one.
Built to bend: 20,000 bends
Anker says the 541 Bio-Nylon cable withstands up to 20,000 bends in its testing. The weak point of most charging cables is the neck where the cord meets the plug, and on this one the cord enters each connector through a moulded housing, as Anker’s photos show.
At 0.9 m (3 ft), this length suits a desk, a bedside table near the socket, a car or a power bank in a bag. If your socket is far from the bed, Anker also makes this cable in 1.8 m (6 ft); this listing is the 0.9 m black Anker USB-C to Lightning Cable.
Who This Is Not For
If you own an iPhone 15 or a newer iPhone, skip the Anker USB-C to Lightning Cable: those phones use USB-C, not Lightning. Anker also says the cable only works with USB-C chargers, so it will not plug into an older USB-A wall charger or a USB-A port in a car without an adapter.
Anyone who needs more than 0.9 m from socket to bed will find this one short, and nobody should expect it to speed up an old 5W charger, because the charger sets the limit.
