Battery, charging and storage
Amazon rates the battery at up to 12 weeks with half an hour of reading a day, or about three weeks with half an hour of writing a day; brightness and usage change those figures. It charges over USB-C in about 2.5 hours with a 9W adapter, or roughly seven hours from a computer, and no adapter comes in the box. The 64 GB model has the most room for large PDFs, comics and a big library of books and notebooks, so you rarely need to delete anything.
Who This Is Not For
The Kindle Scribe 64 GB is not for anyone who wants colour, apps or video: it is a black-and-white E Ink device. Amazon states it is not waterproof, so it should stay away from the bath and pool. At 10.2 inches it is too large to hold in one hand for long reading in bed. Amazon notes that notebooks do not sync with OneNote, Dropbox or Google Drive, and a power adapter is not included.
