The DJI SDR Transmission 2 Combo is a ready-to-use wireless video kit for filmmakers who need a clean monitoring feed away from the camera. It contains two identical transceivers, and each one can work as the transmitter (TX) or the receiver (RX), so one box gives you a complete 1TX + 1RX link. DJI rates the system for DCI 4K/60fps 10-bit HDR transmission, a minimum latency of 35 ms (camera and display latency not included) and up to 4 km of range under CE conditions in an open, interference-free test.

Table of Contents
What Is Inside the DJI SDR Transmission 2 Combo Box
DJI lists the DJI SDR Transmission 2 Combo contents as follows:
- 2 × DJI SDR Transmission 2 Transceiver
- 2 × DJI SDR Transmission 2 Camera Cold Shoe Adapter
- 2 × DJI SDR Transmission 2 NP-F Battery Adapter
- 2 × Firmware Update Cable (USB-C to USB-C, 50 cm)
Because the two units are the same hardware, you decide on set which one sits on the camera and which one feeds the director’s monitor, and you can swap the roles later. Several items are not in the box and are sold separately: NP-F batteries, a USB-C PD power adapter, the Expansion Plate (which adds the SDI port), the Transceiver Cage, the L-Shaped USB-C Video Cable (DP, 50 cm) and the Gimbal Control Cables for Ronin 2, Master Wheels and the RS 4 / RS 3 Pro family.

Picture Quality, Latency and Range
The DJI SDR Transmission 2 Combo accepts and outputs DCI 4K and 4K UHD at 23.98 to 60fps, 1080p at the same frame rates, 1080i at 50/59.94/60fps (input only on the main unit) and 720p at 50/59.94/60fps. 4K travels only through the HDMI port and the bottom USB-C port of the main unit. Video is encoded in H.265 with a maximum encoding bitrate of 50 Mbps, a figure DJI measured under controlled conditions; real bitrate drops with distance and a busy radio environment. Maximum bandwidth is 40 MHz.
The 35 ms minimum latency was measured at 1080p/60fps and 4K/60fps, without the delay of the camera and the screen. The 4 km figure uses one TX and one RX in open, unobstructed, interference-free conditions; on a real location with walls, crowds and other wireless gear, expect shorter range from the DJI SDR Transmission 2 Combo. Audio embedded in SDI, HDMI or DP is passed through and output as 16-bit, 48 kHz stereo PCM.
Multi-Camera Sets and Auto Channel 2.0
In the DJI SDR Transmission 2 Combo, one transmitter can serve up to eight receivers at the same time, so the director, the focus puller and the client can each watch the same camera. DJI recommends up to five cameras (five transmitter groups) on one site, depending on the wireless environment. Each transmitter carries a Device Number from A to P, and you can set a 4-digit pairing passcode so nobody else connects to your feed.
Auto Channel 2.0 picks a channel automatically, and a Channel Dashboard on the screen shows signal quality as bars, green for good and red for poor. You can also choose a channel manually, including DFS channels where local rules allow them. When a channel lands on 2.4 GHz it may interfere with wireless microphones, so DJI advises picking a non-2.4 GHz channel in that case. Keep a TX and an RX from different groups at least 30 cm apart. The DJI SDR Transmission 2 Combo does not link with the first-generation DJI SDR Transmission or DJI Transmission.

Power, Ports and Rigging
Each transceiver in the DJI SDR Transmission 2 Combo weighs about 136 g with antennas and measures 76×61×25 mm (without antennas and cold shoe adapter). Ports are HDMI (input/output), a top USB-C for PD power in/out, and a bottom USB-C for DP video in/out, PD power, firmware updates, the phone app and connection to DJI Ronin stabilisers. Power comes from USB-C PD at 15 V/3 A (DJI requires a PD adapter of 65 W or more), from 6.8 to 17.5 V DC over USB-C, or from an NP-F battery at 6.8 to 8.4 V through the included NP-F adapter. USB-C and a battery can be connected at the same time.
Measured in a 1TX/1RX setup at 25 °C, the transmitter draws about 8.52 W and the receiver about 7.58 W. On a DJI RS 5 you connect with a USB-C to USB-C cable and the gimbal battery can power the unit; the DJI Ronin app then gives wireless gimbal control, and a phone or tablet can act as a monitor through a USB-C cable to the RX, with built-in and custom LUTs. Osmo Action 6 and Osmo Pocket 4 or later connect over USB-C in DP mode.
Who This Is Not For
The DJI SDR Transmission 2 Combo is compact and capable, but it does not suit every crew:
- SDI-based rigs: the transceivers have no SDI port; you need the Expansion Plate, sold separately, and that plate handles only up to 1080p/60fps.
- Owners of older DJI links: it cannot pair with DJI SDR Transmission or DJI Transmission, so mixed fleets will not work together.
- Antenna upgrades: the antennas are fixed, and third-party antennas are not supported.
- Loop-out on a single unit: the transceiver alone has no loop-out; only the Expansion Plate adds it.
- Focus Pro users: DJI Focus Pro is not supported.
- Plug-and-shoot buyers: no batteries and no mains adapter are included, so budget for NP-F batteries or a 65 W PD charger.

FAQ
Does the DJI SDR Transmission 2 Combo include both a transmitter and a receiver?
Yes. It ships with two identical transceivers, and you set each one to TX or RX in its menu, so the box makes one complete link.
How many monitors can watch one camera?
8 receivers can connect to one transmitter at the same time, so you can add up to six more transceivers to the two in the Combo.
Can I use the DJI SDR Transmission 2 Combo with UAE power sockets?
Yes, with your own charger. No mains adapter or plug comes in the box: the units run from NP-F batteries (6.8-8.4 V) or USB-C, and DJI requires a USB-C PD adapter of 65 W or more. Any such adapter rated for 100-240 V works on UAE 220-240 V, 50 Hz mains; choose one with a UK-style Type G plug or use a plug adapter.
Does the DJI SDR Transmission 2 Combo have an SDI port?
No. SDI input and output are on the DJI SDR Transmission 2 Expansion Plate, which is sold separately and supports up to 1080p/60fps.
Can I monitor on my phone?
Yes. Connect a phone or tablet to the RX unit with a USB-C to USB-C or USB-C to Lightning cable (not included) and open the DJI Ronin app; the signal stays on SDR.
Does it work with my older DJI SDR Transmission?
No. DJI SDR Transmission 2 cannot link with DJI SDR Transmission or DJI Transmission; if both are on the same set, keep their centre frequencies apart.
How long does it run on one NP-F battery?
DJI does not publish a runtime, because it depends on battery capacity; it lists power draw of about 8.52 W for the TX and 7.58 W for the RX instead.
