The Timekettle W4 are interpreter earbuds, not music earbuds with a translation app added. You keep one earbud and hand the other to the person you are talking to, and the Timekettle app on your phone translates both sides of the conversation into each listener’s ear. Timekettle lists 52 languages and 106 accents online, including Arabic with 15 regional accents, and a set of offline language pairs for flights and places without data. This listing is the Midnight Blue colour.

How a conversation works on the Timekettle W4
In One-on-One mode each person wears one earbud and speaks in their own language. The Timekettle W4 picks up the speech, the app translates it and plays it in the other person’s ear, so neither of you has to pass a phone back and forth. Timekettle quotes a 0.2-second response with translation arriving in seconds and up to 98% translation accuracy; these are Timekettle’s own figures, and real results depend on the language pair, accents and background noise.
To hear the right voice in a busy mall or airport, the Timekettle W4 uses a bone-voiceprint sensor that picks up the vibration of the wearer’s own voice, together with Vector Noise Cancellation for the microphones. A second free mode, Listen & Play, is for listening to someone speaking rather than a two-way conversation.
Arabic on the Timekettle W4
Arabic is among the 52 online languages, and Timekettle lists 15 Arabic accents: Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Palestine and Israel. That matters in the UAE, where a Gulf speaker and a Levantine or Egyptian speaker can sound very different to a translation engine.
Arabic is not in the offline package, though. Translation to or from Arabic on the Timekettle W4 needs an internet connection on your phone, through Wi-Fi or mobile data.
Offline pairs, free modes and the paid plan
Timekettle advertises a 13-pair offline package with the Timekettle W4. The pairs it lists are English with Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, Spanish, Russian and German, and Chinese with English, Japanese, Korean, French, Spanish, Russian and German. One-on-One and Listen & Play both work offline with these pairs, and Timekettle describes offline languages as a one-time purchase rather than a subscription.
One-on-One and Listen & Play are free with unlimited use. Three features are paid: Multi-Media Translation for videos and live streams, Voice Call Translation for phone and video calls, and AI Realtime Recap. Each W4 gets 10 free trial minutes of Multi-Media and Voice Call Translation, a one-time allocation that does not expire, and after that Timekettle’s Unlimited Plan costs USD 14.99 a month for unrestricted access to all features.
Battery, fit and phone requirements
Each charge gives up to 4 hours of translation or 6 hours of music. With the charging case, Timekettle’s product page quotes up to 10 hours of translation and 18 hours of music, while its FAQ gives about 12 hours of translation; the case holds a 500 mAh battery and recharges in about 1.5 hours.
Each earbud weighs 5.7 g and the case with both earbuds 116.5 g. Ear hooks and two sizes of ear tips are in the box to keep the earbud steady for the person you hand it to. The Timekettle W4 connects over Bluetooth 5.3 and needs the Timekettle app on Android 10 or later or iOS 14 or later.
Who This Is Not For
If you need Arabic translation without a data connection, the Timekettle W4 cannot do it: Arabic works online only. If most of your translating happens on phone calls, video meetings or online videos, budget for the paid plan, because those features stop after the 10-minute trial.
It also asks something of the other person: they have to put your earbud in their ear, which some people will refuse. The earbuds depend on the phone app for every translation, and Timekettle does not publish a water or sweat resistance rating, so treat them as indoor and travel earbuds rather than sports earbuds.
