The Green Lion Vacuum Travel Mug Lite is a small insulated mug for the daily commute, the office or a road trip. Green Lion lists a 280 ml capacity, a double-walled stainless steel body with a 304 stainless steel inner wall and 201 stainless steel outer wall, and insulation that keeps drinks cold for 12 hours and hot for 6 hours. It comes with a food-grade silicone straw and is designed to fit car cup holders. This is the black version (SKU GNVATMUG280BK).
Table of Contents
12 hours cold, 6 hours hot
The Green Lion Vacuum Travel Mug Lite uses a double wall with a vacuum between the two layers, so heat has almost no path in or out. Green Lion rates it at 12 hours for cold drinks and 6 hours for hot drinks. Those figures assume you start with a properly cold or hot drink and keep the mug closed; opening it often, filling it half full or leaving it in direct sun shortens the time. In a UAE summer, that is the difference between iced coffee still cold at lunchtime and a warm drink by mid-morning. Pre-chilling with ice water or pre-warming with hot water helps it reach the rated times.
304 stainless steel inside
The inner wall that touches your drink is 304 stainless steel, the food-grade grade used in most quality drinkware, which resists corrosion from coffee, tea and citrus and does not hold flavours between uses. The outer wall is 201 stainless steel, which keeps the mug sturdy. Green Lion describes the whole mug as made of food-grade stainless steel. Because the body is metal, a dent can affect the vacuum layer, so avoid dropping it on hard floors. Green Lion does not publish whether the mug is dishwasher safe, so hand washing with warm soapy water is the safe choice.
Silicone straw and cup-holder size
The Green Lion Vacuum Travel Mug Lite comes with a food-grade silicone straw, which makes it easy to sip iced coffee, juice or water while driving or working without tipping the mug. Silicone is soft on the teeth and easy to clean with a small brush. Green Lion highlights that the mug is cup-holder friendly, so it sits in a car cup holder or the bottle holder of a backpack. At 280 ml it holds roughly one large coffee, which keeps it light and small enough for a handbag.
What Green Lion does not publish
Green Lion does not list the lid type, dimensions, weight or a leak-proof rating for the Green Lion Vacuum Travel Mug Lite. A mug with a straw opening should be carried upright rather than thrown into a bag, and we would not rely on it for carbonated drinks, which can build pressure in a closed steel container. If you need a fully sealed bottle for a gym bag, a screw-top bottle is the safer choice. Check the product photos for the lid and straw design before you buy.
Who it suits
The Green Lion Vacuum Travel Mug Lite suits commuters who want their morning iced coffee or tea to stay cold on the drive, office workers who keep one cup on the desk all day, and students who want a reusable mug instead of disposable cups. The 280 ml size suits anyone who prefers smaller servings or needs a mug that fits a car cup holder. Those who drink large amounts of water through the day will want a bigger bottle.
Who This Is Not For
The Green Lion Vacuum Travel Mug Lite is not for people who want a large bottle: it holds 280 ml. Green Lion does not publish a leak-proof rating, lid type, dishwasher safety, weight or dimensions, so it should be carried upright and washed by hand. It is not suited to carbonated drinks. Hot drinks stay hot for 6 hours, half the cold-drink time.
