The Hulk Shaped Mug from Paladone is a ceramic mug sculpted to look like the Hulk’s huge clenched fist. The knuckles, folded fingers and veins are moulded into the body, finished in the character’s green, with a plain handle on the back. Paladone describes it as oversized, and it holds 550ml (18 fl oz), close to double a standard office mug. It is an officially licensed Marvel product. Paladone states it is not suitable for the dishwasher or the microwave, so it is a mug you wash by hand and fill from the kettle or coffee machine.

A clenched green fist in ceramic
The whole body of the Hulk Shaped Mug is the fist itself. Four fingers curl across the front with the thumb folded over them, and Paladone has added the knuckle creases and raised veins across the back of the hand, so it reads as the Hulk from any side of the desk. Because the detail is sculpted into the ceramic rather than printed on, there is no decal to fade. The handle sits at the wrist end and is a simple loop, which keeps the grip comfortable even though the front of the mug is bulky and uneven. Expect the mug to take up more space on a shelf than a normal cylinder.
550ml for big drinks
Paladone lists the capacity of the Hulk Shaped Mug as 550ml, or 18 fl oz. That is enough for a large tea, a full cafetière pour or a hot chocolate with room for milk, and it means fewer trips to the kitchen during a long gaming session or work day. The extra volume also adds weight once it is full, so it suits a desk or table more than carrying around. If you prefer small espresso-style drinks, a mug this size will feel half empty most of the time, and the coffee will cool faster with so much open surface.
Care: hand wash only
Paladone states that the Hulk Shaped Mug is not suitable for dishwasher or microwave use. Wash it by hand with warm soapy water and a soft sponge, then dry it with a towel, paying attention to the gaps between the fingers where water can sit and leave hard-water marks. Avoid abrasive scourers on the green glaze. To warm a drink, heat it in a pan, kettle or a microwave-safe cup first and then pour it into the mug. Treated this way, a ceramic mug like this stays in good condition for years.
Official Marvel merchandise
Paladone is a UK company that designs licensed gifts for film, TV and gaming brands, and the Hulk Shaped Mug is an officially licensed Marvel product. For a fan, that matters because the sculpt and colour are approved by the licence holder rather than copied. It sits alongside other Avengers pieces from Paladone, so it fits a shelf of Marvel collectibles, and it works as a birthday or Eid gift for anyone who grew up with the Avengers films or comics. It comes boxed, which makes it easy to wrap and give.
Where it fits best
The Hulk Shaped Mug is at home on a gaming desk, in an office where a large coffee is a daily habit, or in a display cabinet between uses. Its size and colour make it a talking point at work, and it is easy to find in a cupboard full of plain mugs. It also suits teenagers and adults who want a functional piece of merchandise rather than a figure that only sits on a shelf. Pair it with a coaster on wooden desks, as the base of any ceramic mug can mark a surface when the drink is very hot.
Who This Is Not For
The Hulk Shaped Mug is not for anyone who wants to use a dishwasher or reheat drinks in the microwave: Paladone says it is suitable for neither. Its bulky fist shape and 550ml size make it heavier and harder to stack than a normal mug, and it is too large for small coffee drinks. Young children may find it heavy when full.
