The DJI Mavic 4 Pro is DJI’s flagship folding drone for photographers and filmmakers. It carries three cameras on one gimbal: a Hasselblad camera with a 4/3 CMOS sensor and 100 effective megapixels, a 70 mm medium tele camera with a 1/1.3-inch sensor and a 168 mm tele camera with a 1/1.5-inch sensor. The main camera records up to 6K at 60fps and its aperture adjusts from f/2.0 to f/11. DJI rates the flight time at up to 51 minutes in its wind-tunnel test, and the takeoff weight is about 1,063 g. This version ships with the DJI RC 2 controller, which has a 5.5-inch 1080p screen of 700 nits.

Three cameras, three focal lengths

The Hasselblad camera of the DJI Mavic 4 Pro has a 28 mm equivalent lens with a 72-degree field of view, f/2.0 to f/11 aperture and focus from 2 m. Full-resolution stills are 12,288 x 8,192 pixels, and a 25MP mode is available too. The 70 mm medium tele camera shoots 48MP stills (8,064 x 6,048) at f/2.8, and the 168 mm tele camera shoots 50MP stills (8,192 x 6,144) at f/2.8; both tele cameras focus from 3 m. In practice you can frame a wide landscape, a building or a car at 70 mm, and a compressed skyline at 168 mm without moving the aircraft. Digital zoom runs from 1x to 2.5x on the main camera and up to 24x on the tele camera.

Video modes and colour

On the Hasselblad camera the DJI Mavic 4 Pro records 6K (6,016 x 3,384) at up to 60fps, DCI 4K and 4K at up to 120fps for slow motion, and vertical 4K at up to 60fps. The medium tele records 4K at up to 120fps and the tele 4K at up to 100fps, both with vertical 2.7K. All three cameras offer 10-bit D-Log, D-Log M and HLG in H.265. Maximum bitrate is 180 Mbps in H.265 and 90 Mbps in H.264 on this standard version; the 1,200 Mbps H.264 ALL-I mode is reserved for DJI’s 512GB Creator Combo, so it is not available here. Video ISO on the main camera reaches 12,800 in Normal colour and 6,400 in the log profiles.

Infinity gimbal and obstacle sensing

The ball-shaped Infinity gimbal stabilises on three axes and can roll from -90 to 450 degrees mechanically, which lets the DJI Mavic 4 Pro rotate the frame through a full turn and tilt up to 70 degrees for upward shots. DJI quotes angular vibration of plus or minus 0.001 degrees in a windless hover. For safety, an omnidirectional binocular vision system works with a forward LiDAR and a downward infrared sensor. DJI says the vision sensors need patterned, lit surfaces above 0.1 lux, roughly city night lighting, and that forward, backward and lateral sensing is effective at flight speeds up to 18 m/s; upward and downward sensing up to 6 m/s.

Flight time, speed and transmission

DJI’s 51-minute figure is measured in a wind tunnel at sea level, flying forward at a constant 32.4 km/h until the battery runs out; maximum hover time is 45 minutes. Real flights with wind, climbs and fast moves will be shorter. Top speed is 25 m/s (90 km/h) in Sport mode in still air, wind resistance is rated at 12 m/s, and the maximum takeoff altitude is 6,000 m. The DJI Mavic 4 Pro uses O4+ transmission with a 1080p/30 or 60fps live view; DJI lists a maximum range of 30 km under FCC rules and 15 km under CE, SRRC and MIC rules, unobstructed and without interference. In a city DJI expects about 1.5 to 6 km.

Battery, charging and storage

The intelligent flight battery is a 4S Li-ion pack of 6,654 mAh, 95.3 Wh and about 332 g. With DJI’s 100 W USB-C power adapter one battery charges from 0 to 100 percent in about 80 minutes; charging inside the aircraft at up to 65 W takes about 115 minutes. DJI measures these at 25 degrees C, and charging is allowed between 5 and 40 degrees C. The DJI Mavic 4 Pro has 64 GB of internal storage, of which about 42 GB is usable, plus a microSD slot; DJI’s recommended cards go up to 1 TB. Wi-Fi 6 offers up to 80 MB/s downloads to a phone for quick sharing.

Who This Is Not For

The DJI Mavic 4 Pro is not a beginner’s or travel-light drone: at about 1,063 g it is far heavier than sub-250 g models, and flying it in the UAE requires registering the drone and following GCAA and local rules, so check them before each trip. It is rated for -10 to 40 degrees C, which UAE summer afternoons can exceed. One battery comes in this box, so long shoots need the Fly More kit or extra batteries. The 1,200 Mbps ALL-I recording mode and the RC Pro 2 controller belong to other bundles, and the tele cameras focus only from 3 m.
