Before you buy: RIDE 5 was released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC only. There is no Xbox One or PS4 version, so this disc will not run on an Xbox One. It also will not run on an Xbox Series S, because that console has no disc drive at all.
A Career Built Around Rivals
The career runs through four tiers of racing with more than 200 events, and it is structured around ten permanent rivals who have their own backstories and personalities rather than anonymous AI. Endurance races support in-race saves and a rewind function, so a long event does not have to be restarted from scratch after one mistake.
Riding Model and Assists
RIDE 5 sits closer to simulation than arcade. Braking, weight transfer and tyre temperature all matter, and the default assists exist because the unassisted model is demanding. You can turn assists down gradually as you improve, which is the sensible way to approach it if this is your first motorcycle sim.
Dynamic weather and time of day change grip during a race, and wet running is genuinely different rather than cosmetic.
What the D1 Edition Means
The Day One Edition was sold at launch with bonus content and early access. Early access applied to August 2023 and has long passed, and any bonus download codes printed inside a box may have expired. Treat the disc as the game itself; if the box lists extra content, check the code’s validity before assuming it will redeem.
Online and Subscription
Career, time trial and single races against AI run offline once the game is installed and updated. Online multiplayer requires an internet connection and an Xbox Game Pass Core or Ultimate subscription, which is not included in the price of the disc.
