For fast shooters a short pull lets you fire sooner, while a longer pull gives more control in driving games. Note that this is a mechanical system: the controller does not have the adaptive triggers of Sony’s DualSense, so games that use DualSense trigger resistance will not reproduce that effect.
Modules you can swap
The modularity is what makes the Victrix Pro BFG Midnight Mask different. The reversible left module allows both the standard PlayStation layout with sticks side by side and an offset layout like an Xbox pad. Fans of fighting games can swap in the Fight Pad module, which replaces the right stick with six microswitch buttons. The D-pad, the analog stick caps and the analog stick gates are interchangeable too, so you can change stick height and the shape of the stick movement. It plays wireless or wired. PDP’s page for this model does not mention Bluetooth, and it does not publish a battery life in hours; it only describes the battery as long-lasting and notes that firmware updates through Control Hub can improve battery life and wireless connectivity.
The Midnight Mask design
Midnight Mask is the name of this edition’s finish, and PDP files it under its Call of Duty controllers. Functionally the Victrix Pro BFG Midnight Mask is the same controller as the standard version, so you get the same buttons, triggers and modules with a different look. PDP does not publish a written description of the finish on its product page, so the photos in our gallery are the best guide to the colours. For a Call of Duty player who already uses back buttons, it is a way to get a pro controller that also matches the game on the shelf.
Who This Is Not For
The Victrix Pro BFG Midnight Mask is not for players who want the DualSense experience: it has no adaptive triggers and no DualSense-style haptics. PDP does not list Bluetooth for it, so it is not meant for phones, tablets or Xbox and Switch consoles.
