The Redmi Watch 6 Silver Gray is Xiaomi’s latest REDMI smartwatch in its lightest metal finish: a silver-toned aluminium alloy frame with a stainless steel crown around a large 2.07-inch AMOLED screen. It takes calls over Bluetooth, tracks runs with its own dual-L1 GNSS, survives the pool at 5ATM, and Xiaomi rates its 550mAh battery at up to 24 days. That last number comes with conditions, and knowing them is the difference between being pleased and being disappointed, so they are spelled out below.

Table of Contents
Silver Gray and the Aluminium Frame
Silver Gray is the brightest of the three launch colours, alongside Obsidian Black and Glacier Blue. The mid-frame is a high-strength aluminium alloy in a unibody design, and Xiaomi quotes 20% higher Vickers hardness and 40% higher yield strength than the previous generation. At 9.94 mm thick without the lugs, the Redmi Watch 6 Silver Gray is 1.4 mm slimmer than the REDMI Watch 5, and the body weighs about 31 g without the strap.
A silver case reads as a watch rather than a gadget, so it sits well with a shirt cuff in the office and still looks right on a gym strap. The TPU strap fits wrists from about 135 to 205 mm and releases with a single press, so swapping to a leather or metal band takes seconds.
A 2.07-Inch AMOLED Display
The square AMOLED panel measures 2.07 inches at 432 × 514 pixels (324 PPI) and refreshes at 60Hz. Brightness is quoted as 1500 nits in high-brightness mode and 2000 nits peak; Xiaomi notes the peak figure is the maximum reached in a specific area of the screen, not across the full display. Symmetrical 2 mm bezels give an 82% screen-to-body ratio, which leaves room for long messages and large workout numbers.
An always-on colour display is available but switched off by default, and it is the single biggest drain on the battery.
What the Battery Numbers Really Mean
Xiaomi publishes three figures for the Redmi Watch 6 Silver Gray, all measured from a factory reset with the same watch face. Up to 24 days is light usage: advanced sleep monitoring, all-day stress and all-day blood oxygen monitoring are off, heart rate is checked every 10 minutes, and the week includes 15 minutes of calls and 90 minutes of GNSS workouts. Around 12 days is normal usage, with those health features switched on and 180 minutes of GNSS workouts a week. Around 7 days is heavy usage, which adds the always-on display.
So if you want full sleep, stress and SpO2 tracking, plan on roughly 12 days between charges, not 24. The watch charges on a magnetic cable; Xiaomi does not publish a charging time.
GNSS, Workouts and Health Tracking
Dual-L1 positioning uses five satellite systems (GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou and QZSS), so runs and rides are tracked from the watch itself without carrying a phone. There are more than 150 sports modes, heart rate tracking that continues while swimming, blood oxygen, sleep and stress monitoring, guided breathing and women’s health tracking. Xiaomi states these features are not designed for medical use.
The 5ATM rating, certified by TÜV SÜD to GB/T 30106-2013, covers pool and shallow-water swimming. Xiaomi advises against hot showers, saunas and diving, and notes that water resistance is not permanent and can weaken over time.
Calls, Controls and Compatibility
A built-in speaker and microphone let the Redmi Watch 6 Silver Gray take calls over Bluetooth 5.4 when your phone is in a bag. Navigation uses a stainless steel crown and a second button, backed by a linear vibration motor with more than 20 patterns. Pressing the secondary button three times calls an emergency contact once the feature is enabled in the Mi Fitness app.
The watch runs Xiaomi HyperOS and pairs with Android 8.0 or later and iOS 14.0 or later through Mi Fitness.
Who This Is Not For
Anyone who wants to pay with their watch. Xiaomi lists NFC only on a separate model, the REDMI Watch 6 NFC; this listing is the standard Redmi Watch 6 Silver Gray and does not include tap-to-pay.
Divers and sauna users. 5ATM is for pools and shallow water only.
Anyone expecting 24 days with every feature on. With full health monitoring the rating drops to about 12 days, and to about 7 days with the always-on display.
