What 45°C after 24 hours really means
Xiaomi publishes the test behind its heat claim. In a room at 20°C (±5°C), the empty kettle was left open for 30 minutes, then filled with 100°C water up to the lower edge of the lid. When the water dropped to 95°C, the lid was closed and the timer started. After 24 hours the water was above 45°C. The specification table on the same site lists a slightly more conservative figure, above 43°C after about 24 hours. Either way, 45°C is warm, not hot: water boiled in the morning stays hot enough for tea well into the afternoon, and is still warm the next morning. The test used a full Xiaomi Insulated Kettle 1.8L; a part-filled kettle cools faster.
Cold water for a full day
The Xiaomi Insulated Kettle 1.8L keeps cold drinks cold too. In Xiaomi’s test, water at 0°C was poured in, the lid was closed once it reached 4°C, and after 24 hours in a 20°C room the water was below 15°C; the spec table lists below 14°C after about 24 hours. In a UAE summer, with a room much warmer than 20°C, expect the water to warm faster than the lab figure. Xiaomi notes that test results vary with environmental conditions.
Layers of insulation and materials
Xiaomi lists several layers working together: a 316L stainless steel interior that touches the water, a copper-plated layer, a high-vacuum insulation layer, and a spray-coated 304 stainless steel housing. The vacuum is what stops heat moving through the walls. 316L is a food-grade steel with better corrosion resistance than 304, and Xiaomi cites a Centre Testing International report for both grades. The other materials listed are polypropylene and silicone rubber for the lid, handle parts and the non-slip base pad.
Lid, handle and spout
The grooved top cover opens with a two-finger pinch and is designed not to open by accident. A lever-style handle lets you open the lid and pour with one hand, and Xiaomi says the kettle stays sealed even when turned upside down. A dual pressure release design vents steam when you open the lid or pour, and the beak-shaped spout cuts off the flow cleanly to avoid drips and backflow. The 71 mm mouth is wide enough for a hand and brush when cleaning, and a water level line inside shows the fill point.
Size and weight
The Xiaomi Insulated Kettle 1.8L measures 117 × 171 × 265 mm and weighs about 920 g empty, according to Xiaomi. Full, add roughly 1.8 kg of water. It suits a kitchen counter, a majlis tray or an office pantry. The box contains the kettle and a user manual. Xiaomi does not list the colour on its specification page; the unit we sell is white.
Who This Is Not For
The Xiaomi Insulated Kettle 1.8L does not heat water: if you want a kettle that boils, you need an electric kettle as well. After 24 hours the water is only warm, not hot enough for fresh tea or coffee. Xiaomi does not state that it is dishwasher-safe, and at about 920 g empty plus the water it is heavy for travel or a lunch bag.
