The soundcore Select 4 Go is Anker’s pocket-sized Bluetooth speaker for the pool, the beach and the shower: 5W of sound, an IP67 rating, a body that floats, a built-in strap and up to 20 hours of playback. This is the purple version, a violet fabric body with a mustard-yellow strap, logo and side trim.
Table of Contents
Purple With Yellow Trim
The purple soundcore Select 4 Go is a two-tone speaker: the front grille and body are a saturated violet, while the strap, the soundcore logo and the rim around the sides are a warm mustard yellow. It looks playful rather than technical, and it is easy to spot on sand, on grass or bobbing in a pool.
The fabric grille is the part that needs care. Salt water, chlorine and sunscreen can leave marks on it, and the yellow strap shows dirt sooner than the body. After a swim, rinse the speaker in fresh water with the rubber cover sealed, shake it out and let it dry before charging.
Who the soundcore Select 4 Go Suits
The soundcore Select 4 Go makes the most sense where a phone speaker is too quiet and a big speaker is too much to carry: a pool afternoon, a beach day, a camping night in Hatta, a hotel bathroom or a bike ride with the strap looped over the handlebar. It is also a simple gift that does not need any setup beyond Bluetooth pairing.
If two of you own one, the speakers can pair as a stereo set, one on each side of the majlis or the tent. The purple version stands out next to a black one, which makes left and right easy to tell apart.
Sound and Custom EQ
soundcore rates the speaker at 5W and describes the sound as punchy, which is the right expectation: clear vocals and enough bass for a small group outdoors, not a party speaker for a whole garden. The soundcore app adds a Customisable Pro EQ, so you can lift the bass for a beach playlist or bring vocals forward for podcasts.
For a wider sound, soundcore’s answer is True Wireless Stereo: press and hold the Bluetooth button on two soundcore Select 4 Go speakers for 2 seconds and they play as a pair.
IP67, Floating and the Rubber Cover
The IP67 rating means the soundcore Select 4 Go is protected against dust and can be immersed up to 1 m (3.3 ft) deep for 30 minutes, according to soundcore. If it falls into the pool, it floats instead of sinking. The condition that matters: soundcore says the rubber cover must be sealed tightly before the speaker goes into water, so check it every time after charging.
Battery, Bluetooth and Pairing
soundcore quotes up to 20 hours of playback at 40% volume in Balanced EQ mode; louder volumes and heavy bass shorten that. A full charge takes about 4 hours with a certified 5V/1.5A wall charger, and the indicator glows red while charging and white when full.
soundcore’s FAQ lists Bluetooth 5.4, a range of up to 30 m and connection to two devices at the same time. There is one catch for stereo pairing: soundcore has made two versions of the speaker with different Bluetooth chips, and the old and new versions cannot be TWS-paired. The serial number tells you which one you have, so if you are buying a second speaker to pair with an older one, check that first.
Who This Is Not For
The soundcore Select 4 Go has no built-in microphone and does not support phone calls, and it has no AUX input, so it works over Bluetooth only. At 5W it will not fill a large garden party. Charging takes about 4 hours, which is long for a speaker this size, and stereo pairing only works between speakers of the same version.
