The Sony MHC-V43D is a floor-standing party system that does four jobs in one cabinet: a loud Bluetooth speaker, a karaoke machine with two microphone inputs, a DVD and CD player, and a TV sound system over HDMI ARC. It stands 79.5 cm tall, weighs 14.5 kg and rolls on castors, so the Sony MHC-V43D moves from the majlis to the garden without a second person. Sony protects the cabinet with a hard-plastic exterior and corner protectors for exactly that kind of use.

Sony MHC-V43D Drivers and JET BASS BOOSTER
Sony lists five drivers inside the Sony MHC-V43D: one 25 cm woofer, two 8 cm high-efficiency horn mid-ranges (front and back) and two 4 cm high-efficiency horn tweeters. Horn loading pushes more sound pressure from a small driver, which is why Sony says the tweeters “fill your venue with sound” and the mid-ranges improve vocals.
Under the woofer sits the JET BASS BOOSTER duct, which Sony pairs with MEGA BASS to keep the beat audible at long distances, the scenario of a garden or rooftop party rather than a closed room. Sony also lists ClearAudio+ and DSEE (AUTO) processing, plus Dolby Digital decoding for discs and TV sound.
Power Output: What Sony Publishes
Sony’s Middle East specification sheet for the Sony MHC-V43D does not publish a wattage figure, RMS or peak. The only power numbers listed are standby consumption of 0.5W and a 1A charging output on the USB port. Watt figures quoted for this model by third parties do not come from Sony’s regional spec sheet.
What Sony does publish is the driver layout above and the size of the cabinet: 349.5 x 795 x 328.5 mm and 14.5 kg. A 25 cm woofer in a cabinet this size is the physical reason the system moves more air than a portable speaker.
Karaoke, Guitar and Party Features
The Sony MHC-V43D has two 6.3 mm microphone inputs, and the second one doubles as a guitar input. Sony gives the guitar three modes: Clean for a clear tone, Overdrive for a distorted sound, and Bass for a bass guitar. Two microphone holders are built into the unit so the mics have a place to sit between songs.
Through the Fiestable app you get Party Playlist, where guests add songs to a shared queue, and Karaoke Ranking, which ranks the singers. Sony’s Gesture Control works vertically and horizontally, so you control the system by moving a hand over the top panel instead of hunting for a button in a dark room.
The Party Light projects deep blue and sky blue arcs plus red stripes, and Speaker Lights glow blue around the woofer and mid-range drivers, all following the music.
Bluetooth, Party Chain and Apps
Bluetooth on the Sony MHC-V43D supports LDAC and AAC codecs, and Multi-device Connection keeps up to three smartphones connected so guests can take turns playing music. Sony does not publish the Bluetooth version, and it lists no NFC and no Wi-Fi streaming for this model.
Wireless Party Chain links up to 50 compatible Sony high-power audio systems over Bluetooth, playing the same music across all of them. Control is split between two apps: Sony Music Center for playback and sound settings, and Fiestable for the party features.
DVD Player, HDMI ARC, USB and FM Radio
A built-in disc player handles CD, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD+R DL, DVD-RW and VCD, with MP3, Xvid and MPEG4 files supported. The HDMI port is an output with Audio Return Channel, so one cable sends the DVD picture to your TV and brings the TV sound back to the Sony MHC-V43D.
The USB port plays music files and charges a phone at 1A. There is also one analogue audio input and an FM tuner covering 87.5 to 108 MHz with 20 presets and RDS. In the box, Sony lists an FM antenna and a remote control.
Who This Is Not For
Anyone who wants a battery speaker: Sony lists no built-in battery for the Sony MHC-V43D, so it needs a mains socket. For a beach or desert camp without power, a battery party speaker is the better fit.
Buyers who compare by watts: Sony’s regional spec sheet gives no power output figure, so you cannot compare it number for number against speakers that publish RMS ratings.
People with Blu-ray collections: the drive plays DVD and CD formats, not Blu-ray, and the HDMI port is an output only, with no HDMI input to pass through a console or streaming box.
Small apartments and upper floors without a lift: at 14.5 kg and almost 80 cm tall, it rolls well on level floors but is a real lift up stairs.
Power Supply and Ordering the Sony MHC-V43D in the UAE
The Sony MHC-V43D runs on mains power. Sony’s Middle East and Asia specification pages for this model do not list the AC input voltage, and Sony publishes a separate Middle East reference guide for it. Check the rating label on the back of the unit if you intend to use it outside the UAE.
