The Republique PS4 disc contains the complete five-episode season of République, a story-driven stealth action game from Seattle studio Camouflaj, developed with partner Darkwind Media. Publisher GungHo Online Entertainment America released it on PS4 on 22 March 2016, both on the PlayStation Store and as a physical retail edition, on the same day the fifth and final episode, Terminus, arrived. The PlayStation Blog describes it as heavily inspired by the 32-bit era. Camouflaj estimates a first playthrough at 10 to 15 hours. The genre is stealth action adventure.

Help Hope Escape Metamorphosis
République begins with a call for help. Hope, a young woman, is a prisoner of Metamorphosis, a secret totalitarian state ruled by the ever-present Overseer. You play an anonymous benefactor who hacks into the nation’s surveillance network to guide her towards freedom. As the five episodes unfold, the facility’s wider ambitions come to light, and in the final episode, Terminus, Hope’s escape turns into something closer to revenge. GungHo and Camouflaj describe a story that comments on privacy and security in the internet age, told through intercepted conversations, documents and the people Hope meets. The voice cast named on the PlayStation Blog includes Rena Strober as Hope, alongside Jennifer Hale, David Hayter and Dwight Schultz. Each episode, according to the developer, introduces new enemies, environments, puzzles and themes, so the tension keeps changing from start to finish.
Stealth Through Security Cameras
The game plays like a love letter to classic stealth games. Camouflaj names Metal Gear Solid, Parasite Eve and Deep Fear as inspirations for the PS4 controls. You watch the action through fixed camera angles, switching between security cameras to scout guard routes, and use OMNI hacking to open doors, create distractions and gather information. On PS4, a new control scheme gives you full control of Hope with the DUALSHOCK 4, and a new cover system uses motion-captured animations so she can slip between hiding spots. Puzzles and intercepted conversations reward players who explore carefully rather than rush. New outfits for Hope are included, and some unlock unique gameplay features on later playthroughs. The PS4 version also adds an exclusive outfit that pays homage to Gravity Rush, made in collaboration with Sony.
Single-Player Season in Five Episodes
République is a single-player game; the PlayStation Store lists 1 player and there is no online multiplayer or co-op. The disc holds the whole five-episode season, ending with Episode 5: Terminus, so you do not need to buy episodes separately. Camouflaj’s internal estimate puts a first playthrough at 10 to 15 hours, and outfits that unlock new features give a reason to replay. A separate République VR Anniversary Edition for PS VR exists, but it is a different digital product and is not on this disc.
Retail Disc, Region and PS5
You receive a new, factory-sealed retail disc of République for PS4, the physical edition released by GungHo with all five episodes. PS4 games are region-free, so the disc plays on any PS4 console. Most PS4 games also run on PS5 consoles with a disc drive through backward compatibility; check Sony’s official list before buying for PS5. Delivered across the UAE in up to 3 business days, free on orders from AED 300.
Who This Is Not For
République is slow-paced stealth with fixed camera angles, so action fans who want shooting may find it frustrating. It is single-player only, with no multiplayer. The game also launched episode by episode on mobile devices, and its visuals look modest next to big-budget PS4 releases. The developer commentary added to the later Anniversary Edition is not stated to be on this 2016 disc. It is rated ESRB Mature for blood, strong language and violence.
