The JBL Boombox 3 WiFi is the version of the Boombox 3 that adds Wi-Fi to Bluetooth, so it works as a networked home speaker indoors and then goes out to the garden or beach by its metal handle. It uses a 3-way design: a 189 × 114 mm racetrack subwoofer, two mid-range drivers and two 20 mm tweeters. JBL rates it at up to 200 W RMS on AC power, dropping to 140 W RMS on battery, with up to 24 hours of playtime and an IP67 water and dust rating. This is the Black finish.

3-Way Sound and Power That Depends on the Source
On AC power the subwoofer gets 80 W RMS, the two mids 2 × 40 W RMS and the two tweeters 2 × 20 W RMS. On battery those figures become 60 W, 2 × 30 W and 2 × 10 W. In practice the JBL Boombox 3 WiFi plays louder and with more bass when it is plugged in, which is worth remembering for a party at home. JBL lists the frequency response as 40 Hz to 20 kHz (-6 dB).
Wi-Fi Streaming at Home
Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, 2.4 and 5 GHz) brings AirPlay, Chromecast built-in, Spotify Connect and Alexa Multi-Room Music, and JBL’s update notes also list TIDAL Connect and Roon Ready. Because music streams from the internet straight to the speaker, playback does not stop when your phone rings or leaves the room. The JBL Boombox 3 WiFi also supports Dolby Atmos 3D audio, but JBL notes this needs a subscription to a high-resolution music service that offers Atmos content.
Bluetooth and Self-Tuning Sound
Away from your network it switches to Bluetooth 5.3 with A2DP 1.3 and AVRCP 1.5, so any phone or tablet can connect. Two built-in microphones feed a self-tuning feature that reads the surroundings and adjusts the sound, whether the speaker sits on a shelf indoors or on a table in the garden. The JBL One app covers the EQ, music-service accounts and software updates, which have added services over time.
Battery, Charging and USB Out
The 69.12 Wh lithium-ion battery (7.2 V / 9600 mAh) gives up to 24 hours of playtime according to JBL and recharges fully in about 4.5 hours. A USB port charges a phone at up to 5 V / 2 A, though doing so shortens the playtime. The JBL Boombox 3 WiFi also runs on 100–240 V at 50/60 Hz through the supplied power cord, so it plugs straight into a UAE socket.
Durability and Weight
The IP67 rating means the speaker is dust-tight and survives immersion in water under the conditions of that rating, so the pool, beach or a desert trip are all fair game. It is a big speaker, though: 482 × 257 × 200 mm and 6.7 kg, which is why the metal handle is built to carry that weight. Long walks with it are tiring. Rinse it with fresh water after a day by the sea, and keep it off loose sand where you can.
Who This Is Not For
The JBL Boombox 3 WiFi is not for anyone who wants a light speaker for a backpack: it weighs 6.7 kg. It has no light show and no microphone or guitar input, so it is not a party speaker in the PartyBox sense. The Wi-Fi features need a home network, so on trips only Bluetooth works, full power is available only on AC, and charging a phone from it shortens the battery life.
