Green Lion Classic Toaster: 6 Browning Levels Are Time, Not Temperature
The dial from 1 to 6 does not change the element temperature; it changes how long the slice stays down. That is how most toasters in this class work, and it explains two things you will notice: a second batch on the same setting comes out darker because the toaster is already hot (drop one level), and frozen bread needs longer, which is what the defrost button is for. At 685–815W the draw is under 4A, so it will not trouble any socket or extension lead.
38mm Slots: What Fits in the Classic Toaster
38mm is wider than a standard toaster slot (ordinary sliced bread is roughly 12–15mm). Thick-cut and home-baked slices and half a bun fit easily. A full Arabic flatbread does not fit lengthways, and anything with cheese or a filling should never go in. The high-lift lever raises small slices clear of the slot so you can pick them out without touching the element.

Defrost, 30-Second Reheat, Cancel
- Defrost extends the cycle so bread straight from the freezer thaws and toasts in one go.
- Reheat runs a 30-second cycle to warm toast that has gone cold without adding colour.
- Cancel pops the slice up at any point.
There is no bagel (one-sided) mode, no display and no countdown. It is a classic toaster in the plain sense.
Build, Crumb Tray and the 75cm Cord
Green Lion lists the body as metal + PP, and does not say stainless steel, so neither do we. The silver finish is glossy and shows fingerprints. The crumb tray slides out from the base; empty it every few days, since built-up crumbs are the first cause of a burning smell in any toaster. The 75cm cord is deliberately short so the toaster sits next to the socket rather than trailing off the counter.

Does it toast Arabic bread?
Half or a quarter of a loaf, yes. A whole loaf is longer than the slot.
Why is the second slice darker?
Because the levels are time rather than temperature and the toaster is already hot after the first batch. Drop one level.
What is the difference between silver and beige?
Colour only. The specifications here come from Green Lion’s page for the beige version, which is the one shown on their site.
Is it stainless steel?
Green Lion lists “metal + PP” and does not specify the metal, so we cannot confirm stainless steel.
