The Green Lion Classic Toaster is a straightforward two-slice toaster: one browning dial, three function buttons and a lever. Green Lion rates it at 685–815W on 220–240V, with two 38 mm wide slots, six browning levels and a maximum temperature of up to 200°C. The buttons cover defrost, a 30-second reheat and cancel, the high-lift lever raises small slices clear of the slot, and a removable crumb tray slides out from the base. This model comes in a silver finish; Green Lion’s official page shows the same toaster in beige (GNCLTOSTRBG) with identical specifications.

Table of Contents
Six browning levels and their times
Green Lion publishes the toasting time for every level, which is unusual at this price. On the standard cycle, level 1 runs about 70 seconds, then 110, 130, 150 and 180 seconds, and level 6 runs 210 seconds. So the dial changes time, not temperature. That explains a habit worth learning: the second batch on the same setting comes out darker because the Green Lion Classic Toaster is already hot, so drop one level for the next round. For pale breakfast toast, levels 2 to 3 are a good start; levels 5 and 6 suit thick or slightly stale bread.

38 mm slots: what fits
Each slot is 38 mm wide, which is noticeably roomier than a typical toaster slot. Thick-cut toast, home-baked slices, brioche and half a burger bun go in without squeezing. A whole Arabic flatbread is too long for the slot, so cut it into halves or quarters first, and never toast anything with cheese, butter or a filling, because melted food on the element is a fire risk. The high-lift lever pushes short slices higher than the normal pop-up, so you can take them out without reaching into the hot slot.

Defrost, 30-second reheat and cancel
Defrost lets frozen bread go in directly. Green Lion lists longer defrost times for each level: from 100 seconds at level 1 through 140, 160, 180 and 210 seconds up to 240 seconds at level 6. Reheat runs a short 30-second cycle that warms toast which has gone cold without adding much colour. Cancel stops the cycle and pops the bread up at any moment, useful when you see a slice browning faster than expected. The Green Lion Classic Toaster also has an automatic pop-up at the end of every cycle.
Build, crumb tray and cord
Green Lion lists the body as metal plus PP plastic and does not specify stainless steel, so we do not claim it. The power cord is 75 cm with a UK three-pin plug rated for 220–240V at 50/60Hz, so it plugs straight into a UAE socket; the short cord keeps the toaster close to the wall rather than trailing across the counter. Crumbs that build up in the base are the most common cause of a burning smell, so slide out the crumb tray and empty it every few days. Unplug and let the toaster cool before cleaning, and wipe the outside with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
Why the silver finish
Silver suits kitchens with stainless steel appliances, chrome taps and grey or white cabinets, where it blends in with a kettle or microwave in the same tone. It looks cooler and more modern than the beige version shown on Green Lion’s site, which leans towards warm wooden and cream kitchens. A metallic finish does show fingerprints and water spots, so a soft cloth after breakfast keeps the Green Lion Classic Toaster looking clean on an open counter.
Who This Is Not For
The Green Lion Classic Toaster is not ideal for a large family breakfast: it toasts two slices per cycle, and level 6 takes 210 seconds, so a family of six will be waiting. It will not take a whole Arabic flatbread or filled sandwiches. It has no display, no countdown and no bagel mode. Green Lion does not publish dimensions, weight or the type of metal used.
