Fate/Samurai Remnant Switch is the European boxed release of the action RPG from KOEI TECMO GAMES that moves the Fate universe to Edo-era Japan, made under the supervision of Kinoko Nasu and TYPE-MOON in cooperation with Aniplex. You follow the young ronin Miyamoto Iori and his Servant Saber through a secret war for a wish-granting prize, on a PEGI 16 Nintendo Switch cartridge.

The Waxing Moon Ritual in Edo
The story opens in the 4th year of the Keian Era, in the middle of the 17th century. Miyamoto Iori is a ronin living in Asakusa who trained in the Niten Ichiryu sword style. When a Servant called Saber suddenly appears beside him, Iori is pulled into the Waxing Moon Ritual, a hidden contest in which seven pairs of Masters and Servants fight until only one remains. The winner is promised a wish. In Fate/Samurai Remnant Switch you meet rival pairs such as Archer and his Master Zheng Chenggong, and a grey phantom Assassin who can summon and control snakes.
The character designs are by Rei Wataru, the story was supervised by Hikaru Sakurai and Yuichiro Higashide, and the opening animation was produced by CloverWorks, according to the Nintendo eShop credits.

Combat in Fate/Samurai Remnant Switch: Master and Servant Together
Battles in Fate/Samurai Remnant Switch let you fight as both halves of the partnership. As Iori you use swords across five stances; KOEI TECMO explains that Earth Stance is strong in defence while Water Stance suits fights against many enemies at once, and Iori can also use magic when steel is not enough. While you control Iori, Saber acts independently, firing water from the blade and pressing the attack.
The key rule is that a human sword cannot harm a Servant on its own. Saber’s Affinity Technique wears down the enemy’s Shell Gauge, and only then can Iori’s strikes land. You can switch control between Master and Servant and combine them in Link Strikes against enemy Servants and giant monsters, which makes each boss a back-and-forth between the two characters.
Rogue Servants and the Spirit Font Conflict
Not every Servant in Fate/Samurai Remnant Switch has a Master. The publisher describes Rogue Servants such as Rogue Lancer (Cú Chulainn), Rogue Archer (Arjuna) and Rogue Rider (Tamamo Aria), along with a Rogue Saber on a grey horse and a Rogue Berserker. If you build a bond with them in Edo they can lend you their power and join fights.
Between story battles you take part in the Spirit Font Conflict, a strategic layer played on a grid map. Each capture opens a path along a ley line to your base and temporarily boosts Iori’s abilities, and some Rogue Servants only help as separate units on this map.

Exploring Old Edo
Outside combat you walk through famous parts of the city that serve as the stage for the Ritual, including Asakusa, Yoshiwara, Kanda and Akasaka. You can talk to the people of Edo, refill your energy at food stalls and even play with dogs and cats. Side quests and chance meetings with other Masters help Iori grow, so Fate/Samurai Remnant Switch has a quieter pace between its big boss fights.
Why the European Box of Fate/Samurai Remnant Switch
This copy is the PAL edition published in Europe by KOEI TECMO EUROPE and carries the PEGI 16 label for violence. The whole adventure is on the cartridge, and you can play on the TV, on a tabletop or in handheld mode. Nintendo’s compatibility list marks Fate/Samurai Remnant Switch as supported on Nintendo Switch 2 with behaviour consistent with the first Switch, so the cartridge stays useful after an upgrade. The eShop lists eight downloadable content items and a free demo whose save can carry over to the full game.

Who This Is Not For
The PEGI 16 rating of Fate/Samurai Remnant Switch reflects sword violence, so it is not for younger children. The game is single-player only, with no local or online multiplayer. Nintendo’s European page lists English as the only supported language, with no Arabic. Much of the story is told through long dialogue and cutscenes, which may feel slow if you want non-stop action. The season pass DLC is sold separately and is not on the cartridge.
