In the words of the PlayStation Blog announcement, the controller is customised with “the insignia and motto of Drawbridge in vibrant orange”. Sony’s product photographs show that orange artwork set against a dark shell, so the pad reads as porter equipment from the game rather than a plain black controller.

Everything a Standard DualSense Does

Nothing is removed to make room for the artwork. Sony lists haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, a built-in microphone for online chat, a touch pad, a motion sensor, a built-in rechargeable battery and a USB-C port for charging and wired play. The haptics use dual actuators in place of traditional rumble motors, so supported games can send textured, directional vibration rather than a single buzz.

The adaptive triggers on L2 and R2 change their resistance when a game asks them to, from a light pull to a firm stop. Those effects come from the game, not the shell, so the DualSense Death Stranding 2 behaves exactly like the standard white DualSense in every title; the difference is what you see on the desk and in your hands.

Using the DualSense Death Stranding 2 on PS5, PC, Mac and Phones

On PS5, you pair the controller by connecting it to the console with a USB-C cable and pressing the PS button, and every feature works straight away. One condition matters before you buy it mainly for a computer. Sony states that haptic feedback and adaptive triggers may require a USB connection and are available only when the game supports them. PlayStation revealed the controller on May 8, 2025, opened pre-orders on May 22, 2025 and launched it on June 26, 2025, the same day as the game. The recommended retail price at launch was $84.99, €84.99 or £74.99, and Sony said it would be available in limited quantities.

Sony has not published a production number and has not said whether it will make more units, so we make no claim either way. For a buyer in the UAE the practical point is that this edition was produced for the game’s launch window, and once current stock sells through it can be harder to find than a standard DualSense colour.

Who This Is Not For

Anyone who expects a cable in the box. Sony packs the controller with a user manual only and tells owners to use the USB cable supplied with the PS5 console. If you play on PC, or your console cable lives behind the TV, add a USB-C cable to your order.

Players who want extra controls. The DualSense Death Stranding 2 has no back buttons, swappable sticks or trigger stops; those belong to the DualSense Edge.
