Wung-Fu combat: melee, guns and mutant powers
The combat system in Biomutant Nintendo Switch is built around what THQ Nordic calls a martial-arts-styled approach. You switch freely between close-range weapons such as blades and staffs, firearms for distance, and mutant abilities that you unlock as you go. Chaining these together is the point: a few sword strikes, a dodge, a burst of gunfire and a mutant power to finish. The ESRB summary notes slow-motion finishing moves and red blood from some enemies, which gives a good idea of the tone: colourful and playful, but still a proper action game rather than a children’s title.

Character building is where Biomutant Nintendo Switch stands apart from many action RPGs. The central question is whether you save the dying Tree-of-Life or let the world fall. It is a long single-player adventure with plenty of side areas, which suits players who enjoy exploring at their own pace rather than racing through a short story.

THQ Nordic published clear performance targets for this version. In docked mode Biomutant Nintendo Switch runs at 1080p with dynamic resolution and targets a stable 30 FPS. In handheld mode it runs at 720p, again with dynamic resolution, and targets a stable 30 FPS. That means the image sharpness can drop during busy scenes so the frame rate holds, which is the normal compromise for a large open-world game on Switch hardware. Nintendo lists TV, tabletop and handheld play modes, and states that the game also works on Nintendo Switch 2 with the same behaviour as on the original console.
Languages, storage and rating
Nintendo lists the supported languages as English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Simplified Chinese and Brazilian Portuguese. Arabic is not among them. The digital version needs 5.7 GB of space on Nintendo Switch, so if you play the physical card it is still worth keeping some free storage for updates. The ESRB rates Biomutant T for Teen, with content descriptors for Alcohol Reference, Blood, Crude Humor, Fantasy Violence and Use of Tobacco, so it suits teenagers and adults more than young children.

It has no Arabic language option, and it is a single-player game with no local or online co-op. Parents of young children should note the ESRB T rating, which covers blood, crude humour, alcohol references and tobacco use. If you already own Biomutant on PC or PlayStation, the Switch version does not add new story content beyond the Mercenary loadout.
