Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition is the physical PlayStation 5 release of Remedy Entertainment’s survival horror sequel, published with Epic Games. It launched on 22 October 2024 and bundles the full game with both story expansions, Night Springs and The Lake House, the Deluxe cosmetic items and Alan Wake Remastered as a code in the box. The case shown in the photos carries the PEGI 18 rating and the PS5 Pro Enhanced badge.
Table of Contents
What Is in the Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition
Remedy lists the physical Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition contents as the base game on a single disc, the Expansion Pass with Night Springs and The Lake House, and the Digital Deluxe items: Nordic Shotgun Skin, Parliament Shotgun Skin, Crimson Windbreaker, Celebrity Suit and Lantern Charm. A reversible cover sleeve comes in the case.
Alan Wake Remastered, the remaster of the first game, is included as a code in the box rather than on the disc, which matches the Includes Alan Wake Remastered Digital Edition line on the front of the case.
Saga Anderson, Alan Wake and Bright Falls
Saga Anderson, an FBI profiler with a reputation for solving unsolvable cases, arrives in Bright Falls to investigate a string of ritualistic murders. Meanwhile Alan Wake, trapped in the Dark Place, writes a dark story to shape reality in a desperate bid to escape.
The story moves between the two characters, and Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition gives you the full campaign plus everything Remedy has added to it since launch. It is a one-player survival horror game, with no multiplayer mode.
Night Springs and The Lake House
Night Springs is the first expansion. Alan writes scripts for the in-universe TV show Night Springs while lost in the Dark Place, and you play through three stylised episodes in surreal settings, including the role of the Time Breaker, who manipulates time to rewrite destiny.
The Lake House puts you in the role of FBC agent Kiran Estevez; Alan and Saga are not playable in this expansion. Remedy states that both expansions, like the main game, need an additional download even on the physical Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition.
PS5 and PS5 Pro Performance
On a standard PS5 the game supports the DualSense vibration function and trigger effects. On PS5 Pro, Remedy offers a Quality mode at 30 fps with ray tracing and a Performance mode at 60 fps, both using PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution upscaling to a 4K output; the case notes that internet is required to download the Pro update.
Voice acting is in English, French, German, Spanish and Japanese, and on-screen text covers 14 options on PlayStation, including Italian, Korean, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian and both Chinese scripts. Arabic is not supported.
Who This Is Not For
Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition is graphic survival horror. The case is rated PEGI 18, and PlayStation’s UAE page lists it at 21+, so it is strictly for adults.
The disc alone is not enough: the game and both expansions require an additional download, so you need a stable internet connection and storage space. There is no Arabic voice or text, no multiplayer, and the Alan Wake Remastered code is a digital download rather than a second disc.
