You face Romans, pirates and Vikings, and the magic potion turns every fight in your favour.
Nintendo describes it as a fully romastered version of the first XXL adventure. It adds four modes: Course mode for stunts, Countdown mode for speed, Extreme mode for a harder challenge, and a Retro mode that lets you switch to the original graphics at any moment. It is a single-player game.
XXL 2 and the Las Vegum Theme Park
In the second game, Getafix has vanished and is said to have betrayed the Gauls to Julius Caesar. Chief Vitalstatistix sends Asterix and Obelix to Rome, where they discover Las Vegum, a huge, colourful amusement park built by Caesar and packed with references for sharp-eyed players to spot.
Dogmatix helps against the legionaries, the fighting system was redesigned, and there is a new difficulty mode for experienced players, plus hidden bonuses and special challenges. Like the first game, XXL 2 is for one player.
XXL3: The Crystal Menhir and Two-Player Co-op
The third game starts when Getafix receives a letter from Hella Finidrir, high priestess of Thule, asking him to recover a mysterious menhir. The Crystal Menhir takes four forms, stone, ice, fire and magnetic, and the adventure moves through Roman camps such as Totorum, Aquarium, Laudanum and Compendium.
XXL3 is the first game in the XXL series where two people can play Asterix and Obelix together in local co-op, 1 to 2 players on one system according to Nintendo. Side missions and hidden objects are spread across every level, with Cacofonix and Vitalstatistix among the familiar faces.
