The Apple 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max is Apple’s compact USB-C charger built around one idea: it is rated at 40W, yet Apple designed it to deliver up to 60W of output when the connected device can use it. Totot sells the TDRA-approved UAE version (part number MGTV4ZE/A, Model A3351) with a UK-style three-pin plug that fits wall sockets across the Emirates directly, no travel adapter needed. The charging cable is sold separately.

How the Apple 40W Dynamic Power Adapter Reaches 60W
Most chargers are sold by their peak number. Apple takes a different route here: the label says 40W, which is the continuous power the adapter sustains, while the “Dynamic Power” design lets it push output up to 60W when a device asks for more. Apple describes the result as many of the benefits of a higher-wattage charger in a pocket-size body, so you can keep one small brick in a bag for home, office and travel.
The faster modes rely on USB Power Delivery with Adjustable Voltage Supply (AVS). In its iPhone User Guide, Apple names the Apple 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max as its own example of an adapter that meets the requirement for fast charging iPhone 17 models, and lists the reference figures for that class: 40W continuous sustained power, 60W maximum power output, a USB-C output port, and output profiles of 15–20V/2A, 9–15V/2.67A (both AVS), 9V/3A and 5V/3A.

Charge Times Apple Publishes for the Apple 40W Dynamic Power Adapter
Apple quotes these fast-charge results with this adapter, each measured from a drained battery:
- iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max: up to 50% in around 15 minutes, wired, with a USB-C cable rated for 60W or more.
- iPhone Duo: up to 50% in around 20 minutes.
- iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max: up to 50% in about 20 minutes.
- iPhone Air: up to 50% in about 30 minutes.
- iPad Pro 11-inch models: up to 50% in 30 minutes; iPad Pro 13-inch models: up to 50% in 35 minutes.
The conditions matter. Apple ran the tests on pre-production units and software, timed from the moment the Apple logo appeared at startup, using the USB-C Charge Cable or MagSafe Charger. Apple adds that wired fast charging needs a 60W-capable (or higher) USB-C cable, that charge time varies with adapter, settings, usage and environment, and that fast charging might not work when conditions are too hot or too cold. In a UAE summer, charging away from direct sun and car dashboards keeps you closer to the quoted times.
MagSafe, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch
The Apple 40W Dynamic Power Adapter also suits wireless charging. With a MagSafe Charger (sold separately), Apple says iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max reach up to 50% in around 30 minutes when the adapter supplies 35W or more, and that iPhone 16, iPhone 17 and iPhone Air need an adapter of 30W or more for MagSafe fast charging. This 40W model clears both thresholds.
Apple’s compatibility list for the UAE store is long: iPhone 8 through the iPhone 18 Pro line, iPhone Duo and iPhone 17e; iPad Pro, iPad Air (4th generation onward), iPad (10th generation and A16) and iPad mini (6th generation and A17 Pro); MacBook Air from the 2018 Retina model to the M5 generation, MacBook Neo and the 12-inch MacBook; Apple Watch from the first generation to Series 12 and Ultra 4; AirPods and AirPods Max; and Apple Vision Pro (M2 and M5). For Mac notebooks Apple lists compatibility but publishes no charge times with the Apple 40W Dynamic Power Adapter.

Who This Is Not For
- Anyone expecting a cable in the box. Apple ships the adapter alone. For the iPhone 18 Pro times you also need a USB-C cable rated for 60W or more.
- Owners of iPhone 15 or earlier who already have the 20W adapter. Apple’s fast-charge requirement for those models is an 18W or greater USB-C adapter, and Apple publishes no faster figure for them with the Apple 40W Dynamic Power Adapter. For MagSafe on iPhone 15 and earlier, Apple caps wireless fast charging at 15W with a 20W or greater adapter.
- iPhone 17e and iPhone Air buyers on a tight budget. Apple quotes up to 50% in around 30 minutes for both with a 20W adapter or higher, the same 30 minutes it lists for iPhone Air with this adapter.
- People charging two devices at once. Apple’s images show a single USB-C port.
- MacBook Pro users. MacBook Pro is not on Apple’s compatibility list for this adapter.
Where it beats the Apple 20W USB-C Power Adapter is newer hardware: Apple states that iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max need at least 40W for fast charging, that iPhone 18 Pro models need a 60W-capable adapter with AVS, and that MagSafe fast charging on iPhone 16 and later needs 30W or more. A 20W adapter meets none of those three.

FAQ
Does the plug fit UAE sockets, and does it work on UAE mains?
Yes. The UAE version of the Apple 40W Dynamic Power Adapter has a UK-style three-pin Type G plug, and Apple’s reference input range for this adapter class is 100–240V AC at 50–60Hz, which covers UAE mains of 220–240V 50Hz.
Is a USB-C cable included?
No. Apple states the charging cable is sold separately. Use a USB-C cable rated for 60W or more to get the fastest wired times on iPhone 18 Pro models.
Will the Apple 40W Dynamic Power Adapter charge my iPhone 17 faster than the 20W adapter?
Yes. Apple says iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max need a 40W or higher adapter to fast charge to 50% in about 20 minutes, so the 20W adapter falls below that requirement.
Can it charge a MacBook Air?
Yes. Apple lists MacBook Air models from the 2018 Retina version to the M5 generation, plus MacBook Neo, as compatible with the Apple 40W Dynamic Power Adapter. Apple does not publish Mac charge times for it.
Does it work with Lightning iPhones and AirPods?
Yes. Apple lists iPhone 8 and later and Lightning AirPods models as compatible; you need a USB-C to Lightning cable, sold separately.
Does it come with a warranty?
Yes. You get the local agent’s warranty for this TDRA-approved UAE version, serviced at Apple’s authorised service centres in the UAE, plus a 1-year warranty from Totot.
