The Shokz OpenRun Pro Mini is the smaller-size version of the first-generation Shokz OpenRun Pro: the same bone conduction headphones with a shorter headband for smaller heads. Sound reaches you through your cheekbones, leaving your ears open to traffic and people around you. Shokz rates it at up to 10 hours of music and calls, IP55, and Bluetooth 5.1. This listing is black. It is not the newer OpenRun Pro 2 Mini, which uses a different sound system and USB-C charging.

Table of Contents
Mini size: who it fits
Shokz says the Mini has a shorter headband than the standard OpenRun Pro and the same technology otherwise. To choose, measure around the back of your head from the midpoint behind your left ear to the midpoint behind your right ear. If the measurement is 23.49 cm (9.25 inches) or less, Shokz recommends the Shokz OpenRun Pro Mini; above that, the standard size.
A band that fits properly stays still during sprints and does not bounce on long runs, and it leaves less slack behind the neck when you rest your head on a seat or pillow.
Bone conduction with TurboPitch
The Shokz OpenRun Pro Mini uses Shokz’s ninth-generation bone conduction with TurboPitch technology, aimed at stronger bass than earlier Shokz models. Shokz lists a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz and a sensitivity of 105 ± 3 dB.
Nothing enters the ear canal, so you keep hearing cars, cyclists and a training partner. For running on public roads, that awareness is the reason to choose open-ear headphones.
Battery and magnetic charging
A 140 mAh battery gives up to 10 hours of music and calls, with standby of up to 10 days. A full charge takes 1 hour, and a 5-minute quick charge gives 1.5 hours of use.
Charging uses Shokz’s magnetic charging cable rather than USB-C. It clicks on easily with wet hands, but you need that cable with you; a standard phone cable will not fit the Shokz OpenRun Pro Mini.
Calls, pairing and water resistance
Dual noise-cancelling microphones handle calls. Bluetooth 5.1 with A2DP, AVRCP, HSP and HFP profiles covers a 10 m range, and multipoint pairing keeps two devices connected. The Shokz app lets you switch between the Standard and Vocal Booster EQ modes.
IP55 protects against sweat and splashes, which suits running in UAE humidity. It is not a swimming rating.
Why the black Shokz OpenRun Pro Mini
Black is the practical colour for sports headphones that live in a gym bag: it hides sweat marks, sunscreen and dust better than the beige version, and it matches any kit. Wipe the band with a damp cloth after a sweaty session and let it dry before charging.
OpenRun Pro Mini or OpenRun Pro 2 Mini?
Shokz now lists the first OpenRun Pro as discontinued and points buyers to the OpenRun Pro 2. The Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 Mini is a separate product: it adds DualPitch, which pairs bone conduction with an air-conduction bass driver, stretches battery to 12 hours, charges over USB-C and uses Bluetooth 5.3. The Shokz OpenRun Pro Mini keeps the original TurboPitch sound, magnetic charging and 10 hours, and is the choice if you already own Shokz magnetic cables.
Who This Is Not For
If your head measures more than 23.49 cm behind the ears, take the standard size instead. Swimmers need a waterproof model; IP55 is for sweat and rain. Bone conduction cannot match the bass of sealed in-ear earbuds. The magnetic cable is proprietary, so losing it means buying a replacement. And this is the older, discontinued generation.

How long does the Shokz OpenRun Pro Mini battery last?
10 hours of music and calls, with up to 10 days on standby, according to Shokz.
