The Bose SoundLink Plus Citrus Yellow is the bright, limited-edition colour of the SoundLink Plus, the portable speaker Bose announced on 12 June 2025 and released on 26 June 2025. It sits between the small SoundLink Flex and the larger SoundLink Max. Bose launched it in Black, Blue Dusk and Citrus Yellow, naming the yellow a limited edition. Inside are a subwoofer, a tweeter and four passive radiators; outside are soft silicone, a powder-coated steel grille, an IP67 rating, and a battery rated at up to 20 hours.

A limited colour you can see from far away
Citrus Yellow is a bright lemon yellow, and that is more practical than it sounds. A black speaker disappears on grass or between rocks after sunset, while the Bose SoundLink Plus Citrus Yellow stands out on a beach, at a campsite or beside a pool, so it is hard to leave behind. Because Bose says it floats, the bright colour also helps you spot it quickly if it falls into water. Light silicone can pick up dust, sand and sunscreen marks, but the IP67 rating lets you rinse it under fresh water and dry it. It suits summer trips, teenagers’ rooms and anyone who likes cheerful gear.
What IP67 means in real use
The 6 means the speaker is dust-tight; the 7 means it survives temporary immersion. Bose says the Bose SoundLink Plus Citrus Yellow withstands accidental drops in water for up to 30 minutes and floats, but it is not designed to play while in water. Bose recommends rinsing it with fresh water after contact with sea water or chlorinated pool water. The speaker is also rated shock and rust resistant, which matters after it slides off a picnic table or rides in a car boot with camping gear. Rain, pool splashes and beach sand are all within what it is built for.
20 hours, and a port that charges your phone
Bose rates the battery at up to 20 hours, measured at 65% volume over Bluetooth at 20–25°C with the default EQ and no external device charging, so expect less at higher volume or in strong heat. A full recharge takes about 5 hours over USB-C. The same port works in reverse: plug in your phone and the Bose SoundLink Plus Citrus Yellow charges it at up to 15W (5V/3A), enough for most phones and tablets. Bose notes that laptops and power banks may not charge from it.
Bluetooth 5.4, aptX Adaptive and pairing two speakers
The speaker uses Bluetooth 5.4 with a range of up to 30 ft (about 9 m), multipoint for two source devices at once, and memory for up to six paired devices. It supports SBC and AAC, plus Qualcomm aptX Adaptive, which reaches lossless quality with Snapdragon Sound-certified Android phones. Google Fast Pair speeds up setup on Android. In the Bose app you adjust the EQ and the shortcut button. Two SoundLink Plus speakers can play in Stereo Mode, and Party Mode links it with a SoundLink Micro (2nd Gen), SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen), SoundLink Max or another SoundLink Plus.
Size, weight and daily carrying
Bose lists the Bose SoundLink Plus Citrus Yellow at about 9.1 x 3.9 x 3.4 inches (roughly 23 x 10 x 8.6 cm) and 3.37 lb, about 1.5 kg. It is too big for a pocket but fits in a backpack or beach bag. A sturdy nylon rope on the side lets you carry it with one finger or hang it from a tent pole or branch. The front is powder-coated steel rather than fabric, which would hold sand and moisture, and the soft silicone body gives a firm grip even with wet hands.
Who This Is Not For
The Bose SoundLink Plus Citrus Yellow is not for calls: it has no microphone and cannot work as a speakerphone. It plays in mono, so true stereo needs a second SoundLink Plus. No power adapter or audio cable is included, and there is no AUX input listed. It will not charge laptops. At about 1.5 kg it is heavy for clipping to a bag all day, where the SoundLink Flex is lighter, and it should not be played while submerged.
