Who the white finish suits
The JBL Charge 6 White suits people who furnish in light tones: white kitchens, beige sofas, Scandinavian-style bedrooms and minimalist offices. It also matches white phones, white earbuds and light laptop finishes, which makes it a neat desk companion. Be honest with yourself about care, though. White fabric shows what darker colours hide: fingerprints near the buttons, sunscreen, coffee splashes and fine dust. The good news is that the speaker is rated IP68, so you can rinse it under a gentle stream of fresh water and let it dry rather than leaving marks to set. If it will live in a car boot or go camping every week, black or sand will look newer for longer.
At home: kitchen, bathroom and balcony
White makes most sense indoors, and the Charge 6 is well suited to the wetter rooms of a home. In the kitchen it can sit near the sink while you cook; splashes do not matter at IP68, which JBL tests with submersion in up to 1.5 metres of fresh water for up to 30 minutes. The frequency response runs from 56 Hz to 20 kHz (-6 dB). AI Sound Boost reads the music in real time and limits distortion as the volume rises. For quieter listening at home, the most interesting feature is lossless audio over USB-C: after an over-the-air update through the JBL Portable app, you can connect a laptop or another compatible lossless source by cable and skip Bluetooth compression altogether.
Battery and charging
JBL rates the battery at up to 24 hours per charge, and up to 28 hours with Playtime Boost switched on.
