The DualSense The Last of Us Limited Edition is Sony’s official PS5 wireless controller dressed for Naughty Dog’s series. It keeps everything the standard DualSense does, including haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, a built-in microphone array and the Create button, and adds glossy black trophy icons from both games across the body, led by the Fireflies logo. Sony released it on 10 April 2025 as a limited edition.

The Design, Up Close
PlayStation’s announcement describes glossy trophy icons printed across the surface of the DualSense The Last of Us controller, marking both Part I and Part II. Three symbols stand out: the spray-painted Fireflies logo from Part I, and a moth and a wolf that stand for the intertwined lives of Ellie and Abby in Part II.
The body is black with the icons in a black gloss finish, so they catch the light at an angle rather than shouting from across the room. The grips, sticks and face buttons stay white, and the back carries a large THE LAST OF US wordmark, as the product photos show.
Haptic Feedback and Adaptive Triggers
Sony’s dual actuators replace the old rumble motors, so the DualSense The Last of Us renders impacts and textures as distinct sensations rather than a single buzz. The adaptive L2 and R2 triggers vary their force and tension with what you hold in a game; Sony’s own example is the tension of drawing a bow. Both features work when the game supports them.
Microphone, Create Button and Headset Jack
A built-in microphone array lets you chat with friends without a headset, and the Create button, which replaced Share from the DualShock 4, captures and shares gameplay. The DualSense The Last of Us also has a 3.5 mm headset jack and a USB Type-C port for charging and wired play.
Using It on PC, Mac and Phones
The DualSense The Last of Us connects to Windows PC, Mac, Android and iOS by USB Type-C cable or Bluetooth. Sony lists Windows 10 (64-bit), Windows 11, macOS Big Sur 11.3, iOS and iPadOS 14.5, tvOS 14.5 and Android 12.
Features drop away outside the PS5. Over Bluetooth on a PC, haptic feedback, the built-in microphone and speaker, and the headset jack are unavailable; over USB, haptics work on PC in supported games and the headset jack works on PC and Mac. On phones and tablets, adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, microphone, speaker and headset jack are not supported.
A Collector’s Pad for Fans of the Series
On the DualSense The Last of Us, fans will spot the Fireflies logo first; the moth and the wolf are details for anyone who finished Part II. The DualSense The Last of Us suits a PS5 used mostly for story games, and it looks good on a stand between sessions.
White grips show hand marks over time. Switch the controller off and wipe them with a slightly damp cloth; keep liquid away from the ports and the headset jack.
Who This Is Not For
The DualSense The Last of Us is not for anyone who only plays on a phone, because the features that set a DualSense apart do not work there. If you only need a spare pad for guests, a standard DualSense does the same job for less. Sony does not publish a battery-life figure on its DualSense product page, so we do not quote one. And the limited edition is a design choice: it plays exactly like a standard DualSense.
