The Apple TV 4K 64GB is the Wi-Fi-only version of Apple’s third-generation Apple TV 4K from 2022. It runs the same A15 Bionic chip, the same Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and Dolby Atmos support and the same USB-C Siri Remote as the 128GB model, but it has no Ethernet port and no Thread radio. If your router covers the living room well and your smart home does not depend on Thread, that trade costs you nothing in picture or sound.

Apple TV 4K 64GB: Which Model This Is
Apple sells the third-generation Apple TV 4K in two configurations. This page covers the Wi-Fi model, Apple model number A2737, with 64GB of storage. The other configuration, model A2843, adds Gigabit Ethernet, Thread and 128GB of storage. From the front the two look the same: a black box 93 mm square and 31 mm tall with the same Siri Remote, so the model number on the underside and the rear panel are the quickest way to tell them apart. The Apple TV 4K 64GB has only an HDMI port and the power socket at the back.
Apple introduced this generation in 2022, and it was still the Apple TV 4K listed on Apple’s technical specifications page when we wrote this. If Apple releases a newer generation later, the unit sold here remains the 2022 model with the A15 Bionic chip.
What the Apple TV 4K 64GB Leaves Out: Ethernet and Thread
There are exactly three hardware differences between the two versions, and they all point the same way. The Apple TV 4K 64GB has no Gigabit Ethernet port, so it reaches the internet only over Wi-Fi. It has no Thread networking radio, which Apple lists only on the Wi-Fi + Ethernet model. And it has half the storage: 64GB instead of 128GB. Everything else on Apple’s specifications page, from the chip to the video formats and the remote, is shared.
Thread matters only if you use Matter or HomeKit accessories built on Thread, such as some sensors, smart plugs and buttons. Those need a Thread border router somewhere in the home, and Apple’s own note names a Thread-enabled home hub such as an Apple TV 4K with Thread or a HomePod mini. The Apple TV 4K 64GB can still act as an Apple Home hub for remote access and automations, but it cannot bridge Thread devices by itself.
If a HomePod mini already sits in your home, the gap closes: the HomePod handles Thread, and the Apple TV 4K 64GB handles the screen.
Is Wi-Fi 6 Enough for 4K Streaming?
For most homes, yes. The Apple TV 4K 64GB uses Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) with 2×2 MIMO, the same wireless hardware Apple lists for the Ethernet model. A 4K HDR stream needs a steady connection more than a fast one, so a router in the same room or one wall away is usually all it takes.
Wi-Fi struggles in dense residential towers, where dozens of neighbouring networks share the same channels, or when the TV sits several rooms and a concrete wall away from the router. A mesh point near the TV helps in that case. If you already have a network cable behind the TV, that is the strongest reason to choose the Apple TV 4K 128GB Wi-Fi + Ethernet instead.
Is 64GB of Storage Enough?
Streaming apps do not keep films on the box, so for Netflix, Apple TV+, YouTube, Shahid and similar services 64GB is far more than the apps themselves need. tvOS manages storage for you, and any app removed to free space can be downloaded again from the App Store at any time.
Storage matters more if you install many Apple Arcade titles or other large games. The Apple TV 4K 64GB runs them on the same A15 Bionic chip; the only difference is how many you can keep installed at once before some need to be downloaded again.
Picture and Sound on the Apple TV 4K 64GB
Picture and sound are identical across both configurations. The Apple TV 4K 64GB outputs up to 2160p at 60 frames per second with Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG, over an HDMI 2.1 port that also supports HDMI Quick Media Switching (QMS) on compatible TVs. Your TV decides which HDR format you actually see: a Dolby Vision film shows in Dolby Vision only on a Dolby Vision TV.
For sound, it passes Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 and Dolby Digital 5.1 to a compatible TV, soundbar or AV receiver over HDMI, and it plays Apple Lossless and FLAC music. Bluetooth 5.0 connects AirPods and game controllers, and AirPlay sends photos and video from an iPhone, iPad or Mac to the big screen.
Siri Remote, Power and Delivery in the UAE
The Apple TV 4K 64GB comes with the third-generation Siri Remote, which has a touch-enabled clickpad, a rechargeable battery that Apple rates for months per charge, and a USB-C port for charging. Apple’s box contents list the Apple TV, the Siri Remote, a power cord and documentation. No HDMI cable or USB-C charging cable is listed, so keep one of each at hand.
The power supply is built into the box and accepts 100 to 240 V AC at 50 to 60 Hz, so it runs on UAE mains voltage without a transformer.
We deliver the Apple TV 4K 64GB anywhere in the UAE within 3 business days, and delivery is free on orders from AED 300. Who This Is Not For
Skip the Apple TV 4K 64GB if your TV is far from the router in a building with weak Wi-Fi and you can run a network cable to it: the Ethernet port on the 128GB model is the fix. Skip it too if you are building a Matter smart home on Thread accessories and own no HomePod mini or other Thread border router.
Like every Apple TV 4K, it has no USB port for external drives, no optical audio output and no TV tuner, and Apple does not include an HDMI cable. Some apps and content depend on the region of your Apple Account rather than on the hardware.

FAQ
What is the difference between the Apple TV 4K 64GB and the 128GB model?
3 differences: the 64GB model has no Gigabit Ethernet port, no Thread radio and half the storage. Chip, picture, sound and remote are the same.
Can I connect the Apple TV 4K 64GB with a network cable?
No. The Wi-Fi model has no Ethernet port, and it has no USB port for an adapter either. Only the 128GB Wi-Fi + Ethernet model takes a network cable.
Does the Apple TV 4K 64GB work as a smart home hub?
Yes, as an Apple Home hub for remote control and automations. Thread-based Matter accessories also need a Thread border router such as a HomePod mini, because this model has no Thread radio.
Does it support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos?
Yes. Dolby Vision up to 2160p at 60 fps and Dolby Atmos are supported, when your TV and sound system support them too.
Will the Apple TV 4K 64GB run on UAE power?
Yes. Apple lists 100 to 240 V AC at 50 to 60 Hz, and the power supply is built into the box.
Is this the newest Apple TV?
No newer generation was on Apple’s specifications page when we wrote this: it is the 3rd generation from 2022 with the A15 Bionic chip.
