The Anker PowerLine III is the third generation of Anker’s PowerLine Lightning cables, and this is the 6ft (1.8 m) USB-A version in white, model A8813. Anker built it around a 25,000-bend lifespan and says it will probably outlast your phone. It is slimmer than the earlier PowerLine cables without losing strength, carries Apple MFi certification, and moves data at 480 Mbps when connected to a computer.

25,000 Bends: What Anker Tested
Anker states that the Anker PowerLine III withstands more than 25,000 bends in lab testing, and that its tensile strength can support 175 lb (about 79 kg) without breaking. In daily use that covers the things that kill ordinary cables: tugging the phone off the bed, catching the cable in a car door, and bending it at the plug while you use the phone.
Anker achieved this with an optimised internal layout, which it also used to make the cable slimmer than the previous PowerLine generations. The plugs have textured grooves on the head for a better grip when plugging in and pulling out.
Why 6ft (1.8 m) Is Useful
Most original phone cables are 1 m. The extra length of this Anker PowerLine III reaches from a socket behind the bed to the pillow, from a floor socket to the sofa, or from the front USB-A port of a car to a passenger in the back seat.
It also means you can keep using the phone normally while it charges instead of holding it next to the wall. The trade-off is more cable to manage on a small desk or in a bag.
A White Cable That Stays Clean
White cables usually turn grey within weeks. Anker gives the Anker PowerLine III a protective, dirt-resistant coating that stops grime from seeping into the surface, and says a wipe with a wet cloth brings it back to new, without dullness or yellowing.
Anker’s support FAQ lists the jacket material as TPE, which stays flexible instead of stiffening the way cheap PVC cables do.
MFi Certification and the C89 Connector
The cable is MFi certified for compatibility with Lightning devices including iPhone, iPad and iPod, ensuring safe charging at the highest possible speed, according to Anker. Anker’s support page specifies the newer C89 Lightning tip for the Anker PowerLine III, the Apple connector generation used in current MFi cables.
With certification, the cable keeps charging after iOS updates and does not trigger the accessory not supported message that uncertified cables often show.
Charging and Data Speeds
Anker lists up to 5V/2.4A, or 12W, for its USB-A to Lightning cables. That is the ceiling for a USB-A port and suits standard wall chargers, car chargers and computer ports. For data, Anker rates the Anker PowerLine III at 480 Mbps, enough to move photos and videos to a computer quickly.
Anker’s compatibility list separates two groups: iPhone 7 and earlier, older iPads and AirPods charge normally, while iPhone 8 through iPhone 11 Pro Max and AirPods Pro are listed with limited charging speeds, because those phones can fast charge only over USB-C. Anker confirms that USB-A to Lightning cables work with CarPlay.
Who This Is Not For
Not for iPhone 15 or later, which use USB-C instead of Lightning, nor for current iPads and AirPods cases with USB-C. If your phone supports fast charging (iPhone 8 and later), Anker itself recommends a USB-C to Lightning cable for high-speed charging; this USB-A cable stops at 12W.
It will not plug into a USB-C-only charger or laptop without an adapter, no charger is included, and 1.8 m is more cable than you need in a car or on a compact desk.
