Every time the earbuds go in, a proprietary tone plays and a microphone inside each bud measures how your ear canal reflects it. That reading describes the acoustic space in front of your eardrum, and the earbud adjusts its output to compensate. The whole process takes a fraction of a second and asks nothing of you.

The point is not novelty. It is that the tuning Bose engineered is the tuning you actually receive, rather than a version altered by the shape you were born with.

Moonstone Blue is a pale, softly greyed blue — light enough to be clearly a colour, muted enough to stay professional. Against the stem design it reads as considered rather than playful.

Because it is pale, the eartips will show marks from skin sooner than black does. They are removable silicone and wash clean, and spares in three sizes are supplied. If you would rather not think about it, Black is the same earbud with no upkeep.
