Sker Ritual PS5 is the disc version of Sker Ritual, the co-op horror horde shooter made by the Welsh studio Wales Interactive. It takes the old-school, round-based formula, where waves of enemies grow stronger each round and you spend what you earn on weapons and upgrades, and sets it on Sker Island, overrun by the Quiet Ones. The story follows the evil ending of Maid of Sker, and your goal is to end the reign of Elisabeth across six maps. You can play solo or with up to four players online. The physical edition on PS5 is distributed by Curveball, carries original box artwork and is rated PEGI 18.

Round-based horde survival
The core loop of Sker Ritual PS5 is simple and addictive. Each round brings more and tougher Quiet Ones, the failed experiments of Sker Island that have turned ravenous. Between and during rounds you collect money from kills, open new areas of the map and buy ammunition and arms at the booths of The Laughing Policeman. Wales Interactive also adds optional objectives and hidden Easter Eggs on every map, so a run is more than holding a corner: groups that explore and solve them can earn extra rewards such as collectible masks.
Miracles from the Celtic Gods
Instead of a fixed perk list, Sker Ritual gives you Miracles. Different Celtic Gods drop them during a match, and each drop offers three random upgrades to your attacks, abilities, grenades, melee or healing. Devotion to the right Gods unlocks combos, and you can also earn an Ultimate, a chargeable ability for the moment enemies close in. Because the offers are random, no two runs of Sker Ritual PS5 play out the same way, which keeps replaying the same map interesting.
Weapons, Lucky and Super Charge
Weapons come from the wall booths, but there are two extra routes to stronger firepower. Lucky, your companion, gambles for higher-tier armament, and the Super Charge system transforms your weapons into steampunk creations. Elites with unique abilities and bosses with their own powers push you to plan when to spend and when to save, which is where co-op teams that share ammo and revive each other last much longer than solo players.
Playing solo or with up to four players
Offline, Sker Ritual PS5 is a single-player game, and it remains fully playable that way with adjustable difficulty. Online co-op for up to four players needs a PlayStation Plus subscription, as with most PS5 online games. The PlayStation Store lists English voice-over with on-screen text in many languages, including English, French, German, Spanish and Welsh; Arabic is not among them. Cosmetic masks, taunt voice lines and menu scenes are unlocked through the free Sker Pass, achievements, Easter Eggs and optional DLC.
About the physical edition
This is the boxed PS5 disc edition, which Wales Interactive announced with distribution by Curveball, with original cover artwork, the PEGI 18 label and the Curveball and Wales Interactive logos on the front. A disc is the right choice if you want to lend or resell the game or keep a collection on the shelf. Note that later updates and any new content are downloaded from PlayStation Network, so an internet connection is still useful the first time you play.
Who This Is Not For
Sker Ritual PS5 is rated PEGI 18 for extreme violence, so it is not for younger players. Online co-op needs PlayStation Plus. There is no Arabic voice or on-screen text, and Wales Interactive has not announced new maps or modes beyond the six maps in the game, so players who want a long story campaign or constant new content should look elsewhere. Wales Interactive does not publish resolution or frame-rate targets for the PS5 version.
