The Razer Viper V4 Pro is the successor to the Viper V3 Pro, the symmetrical wireless mouse Razer promotes as the #1 mouse among esports pros, citing ProSettings.net. Razer kept the same outer dimensions and changed what is inside: a new Focus Pro 50K Optical Sensor Gen-3, HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2, Gen-4 optical switches, an optical scroll wheel and a battery rating that nearly doubles. This listing is the black model, which Razer puts at under 49 g without cable and dongle.

Razer Viper V4 Pro vs Viper V3 Pro: What Changed
Razer’s launch announcement lists the differences. The Razer Viper V4 Pro is about 9% lighter than the Viper V3 Pro (under 49 g for black against 54 g). Battery is rated at up to 180 hours at 1000 Hz, against 95 hours on the V3 Pro. The sensor moves from the Focus Pro 35K Gen-2 to the Focus Pro 50K Gen-3, the switches move from Gen-3 to Gen-4 optical, and the scroll wheel becomes optical. Razer also claims 2.5 times faster motion latency than the previous generation.
What did not change is the shell. Razer lists both mice at 127.1 x 63.9 x 39.9 mm, so if you already like the Viper V3 Pro in your hand, the Razer Viper V4 Pro will feel familiar from the first match.
Focus Pro 50K Optical Sensor Gen-3
Razer rates the sensor at up to 50,000 DPI, 930 inches per second and 90 G of acceleration. It adds Frame Sync, which Razer describes as just-in-time scanning timed to the polling interval to reduce motion latency. In plain terms, the report the PC receives is fresher when it arrives.
The DPI button on the underside of the Razer Viper V4 Pro cycles 400, 800, 1600 (default), 3200 and 6400 out of the box, and holding it for 2 seconds switches the mouse on or off. Everything can be remapped in Razer Synapse, and one onboard profile stores DPI stages and button mappings on the mouse itself.
8000 Hz Wireless and the 180-Hour Battery
The Razer Viper V4 Pro reports at up to 8000 Hz (every 0.125 ms) wireless and wired, through HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2. Razer rates battery life at up to 180 hours at 1000 Hz and up to 45 hours at 8000 Hz. That 8000 Hz figure is the practical improvement: on the Viper V3 Pro it was up to 17 hours, so a week of evening matches at maximum polling is now realistic between charges.
The redesigned Gen-2 dongle has a taller antenna, a weighted base and three LED indicators for battery, connection and polling rate, which you can reassign in Synapse. Put it close to the mouse on the desk rather than behind the PC for the most stable signal.
Shape, Switches and Scroll Wheel
Razer describes the Razer Viper V4 Pro as right-handed symmetrical and optimised for claw and fingertip grips. The low 39.9 mm height and 63.9 mm width favour quick, small corrections over a full palm rest. Razer Optical Mouse Switches Gen-4 are rated for 100 million clicks with no debounce delay, and the 24-step Razer Optical Scroll Wheel is, per Razer, 3.3 times more reliable than mechanical designs. There are 6 programmable buttons, 100% PTFE feet and a USB Type-A to USB Type-C cable for wired play and charging.
Who the Razer Viper V4 Pro Suits
Razer’s own FAQ targets players who rely on fast directional changes, tap-fire timing and constant micro-adjustments: Valorant, Counter-Strike 2, Apex Legends and similar shooters. If you already use a light symmetrical mouse and want the lowest weight Razer offers in this shape, the Razer Viper V4 Pro is the upgrade path. If you are a palm-grip player who likes a mouse that fills the hand, an ergonomic shape such as the DeathAdder V4 Pro is a better fit.
Who This Is Not For
Palm-grip players with large hands, who may find the low, narrow shell too small. Anyone who needs Bluetooth: connection is the HyperSpeed dongle or the cable only. Buyers who want RGB lighting, which Razer lists as none. Left-handed players: the side buttons sit on the left, so the Razer Viper V4 Pro is symmetrical in shape but set up for the right hand.
