The GoPro HERO11 Black Mini is a smaller, simpler GoPro built for mounting rather than handheld vlogging. It uses the same 1/1.9-inch 8:7 sensor as the HERO11 Black, records 5.3K at 60 frames per second and stabilises with HyperSmooth 5.0, but drops the rear touch screen and the removable battery to bring the weight down to 133 g. You set it up once in the Quik app, press the single shutter button and let it record from a helmet, a chest strap, a bike or a car.

A camera made for mounts
GoPro gave the HERO11 Black Mini two sets of folding mounting fingers, one on the bottom and one on the back, so it can sit low against a helmet or hang under a handlebar without extra adapters. It measures 52.4 x 51.2 x 38 mm and weighs 133 g with its battery and fingers. That small, light body matters on a helmet, where a heavier camera pulls on your neck, and on drones, RC cars and pets’ harnesses. GoPro says it works with more than 40 of its mounts, mods and accessories.
Video only, with big frame grabs
The GoPro HERO11 Black Mini records video only; GoPro does not list a photo mode. Instead, frame grabs from 5.3K video in the full 8:7 frame reach 24.69MP, or 21.16MP in 4:3 and 15.87MP in 16:9. Video modes go up to 5.3K60 in 16:9 and 5.3K30 in 8:7, 4K120, 2.7K240 and 1080p240, in H.265 at up to 120 Mbps with 10-bit HEVC in select modes. The 8:7 frame lets you choose a vertical or wide crop later in the Quik app.
No rear screen: what that means in practice
There is no touch screen on the back. A small front status screen shows the mode and recording state, and a status light confirms that it is recording. Framing and settings happen through the Quik app on your phone, so you set the angle once before a ride or a jump. For helmet and chest shots this works well, because you could not see a rear screen there anyway. For handheld vlogging or quick changes between shots, it is slower than a GoPro with a touch screen.
Stabilisation and lenses
HyperSmooth 5.0 stabilises in the camera, with Horizon Lock built in to keep the horizon level even when the camera rolls. Digital lenses include HyperView, SuperView, Wide, Linear and Linear with Horizon Lock. Zoom is 2x at 1080p and 1.4x at 2.7K and above. The f/2.5 lens sits behind a removable 2 mm Gorilla Glass cover with a hydrophobic coating, which can be replaced if it gets scratched. Live streaming runs at 720p through the Quik app.
Built-in battery and water
The 1500mAh Enduro battery is built in and cannot be swapped, so the GoPro HERO11 Black Mini has to be recharged through USB-C rather than with a spare battery. GoPro says Enduro improves cold-weather performance and runtime at moderate temperatures, but it does not publish a runtime figure for this model. The camera is waterproof to 10 m (33 ft) without a housing and has a tough outer shell. Footage records to a microSD card rated V30 or UHS-3, which is not included.
Who This Is Not For
The GoPro HERO11 Black Mini is not for vloggers or anyone who wants to frame shots on the camera itself: there is no rear screen, so you depend on the Quik app. It does not take regular photos, only frame grabs from video. The battery is built in, so you cannot carry spares for a long day, and GoPro does not publish its runtime. It is not a low-light camera, and diving deeper than 10 m is not covered.
