The Beats Pill Light Gray is the lighter of the two colours in the Kim Kardashian Special Edition of the current Beats Pill (part MAX24). The finish is a soft, quiet grey with no loud logos, close to modern furniture and pale walls, so the speaker blends into a room instead of becoming the thing everyone looks at. Inside it is the standard Beats Pill: up to 24 hours of battery, IP67 dust and water resistance, lossless audio over a USB-C cable, and the ability to charge your phone from the speaker’s battery.

The Kim Kardashian edition in Light Gray
The edition comes in two greys, light and dark, and this is the light one. The Beats Pill Light Gray suits anyone who wants a speaker that stays on show on a bookshelf or a living-room table and sits comfortably with white, beige and light wood. It also works as a gift for someone who cares about how things look as much as how they sound. Because the colour is pale, sand and mud from a trip may show more than on the dark version, but the IP67 rating means you can rinse it with fresh water and let it dry. If it will spend most weekends in the desert or on the beach, the Dark Gray version may be the easier choice.
A bigger woofer tilted towards you
Beats says the custom racetrack woofer moves 90% more air than the previous generation, with neodymium magnets that give 28% greater motor force. The tweeter has been redesigned and housed separately for stability, for clearer highs and a fuller mid-range. The acoustic architecture is angled upward by 20 degrees, so sound heads towards the listener rather than into the table. Beats does not publish the power output in watts, driver diameters or a frequency range for the Beats Pill Light Gray.
24-hour battery and phone charging
Beats rates the Beats Pill Light Gray at up to 24 hours on a single charge, without stating the volume used in testing, so expect less when you play it loud. With Fast Fuel, a 10-minute charge gives up to 2 hours of playback. The USB-C port works both ways: charge the speaker through it, or connect your phone with the cable and the speaker charges it from its own battery, which helps on long trips. A USB-C to USB-C cable is in the box; the power adapter is sold separately.
Lossless over USB-C and pairing two speakers
Connected to a computer or phone with a USB-C cable, the Beats Pill Light Gray plays high-resolution lossless audio instead of the compressed sound you get over Bluetooth. Wirelessly it uses Class 1 Bluetooth, with one-touch pairing on iOS and Android. You can link two Beats Pill speakers: Amplify Mode plays the same sound on both for more volume, and Stereo Mode splits the left and right channels. It also works as a speakerphone for calls and your voice assistant, and supports Find My on iOS and Find My Device on Android.
Durability and carrying
The IP67 rating covers dust and water resistance, with improved internal seals that help keep out dust, sand and water. The Beats Pill Light Gray weighs 680 g and measures 21.9 × 7.1 × 7.0 cm, with a removable carry lanyard and a soft silicone back that makes it easy to grip. In the box are the speaker, the lanyard, a USB-C to USB-C cable for charging and audio, a Quick Start Guide and a warranty card.
Who This Is Not For
The Beats Pill Light Gray is not for anyone who wants a party speaker that fills a hall with heavy bass; it is a small portable speaker, and Beats does not publish its power output. There is no 3.5 mm input, so wired listening is over USB-C only. It has no advanced EQ app like some rivals, and the power adapter is not included. The light finish also needs a rinse more often after outdoor trips than the Dark Gray version.
