Six Games in Asterix Maxi Collection Switch
The collection covers two styles of Asterix game. The XXL line offers 3D action-adventures: Asterix and Obelix XXL Romastered, Asterix and Obelix XXL 2 (Roman Rumble in Las Vegum), Asterix and Obelix XXL 3 – The Crystal Menhir and Asterix and Obelix XXXL – The Ram From Hibernia. The Slap Them All line offers 2D beat ’em ups: Asterix and Obelix Slap Them All! and Slap Them All! 2.
Together, the games in Asterix Maxi Collection Switch give you years of Asterix games in one place, all published by Microids. For a fan who never owned these titles on Switch, it is the simplest way to get the full set at once.

The XXL Adventures
XXL Romastered is a remaster of the first XXL adventure. In 50 B.C. the Romans burn the Gaulish village, and Asterix and Obelix set out with Dogmatix through Normandy, Greece, Helvetia and Egypt before reaching Rome to free their friends from Caesar. You switch between the two heroes, fight Romans, pirates and Vikings, and the remaster adds Course, Countdown and Extreme modes, plus a Retro mode that shows the original graphics at any time.
XXL 3 – The Crystal Menhir sends the heroes after a mysterious menhir that takes four forms: stone, ice, fire and magnetic. It was the first game in the XXL series with two-player co-op. XXXL – The Ram From Hibernia travels to Hibernia to recover chief Irishcoffix’s golden ram across six worlds, with a top-down 3D view and local co-op for up to 4 players on the same screen, according to Nintendo’s listing.

Slap Them All! 1 and 2: Comic-Book Brawling
Slap Them All! is a 2D side-scrolling beat ’em up with hand-drawn levels based on existing Asterix albums, plus one chapter made only for the game, along with mini-games. Each hero has a range of moves and combos, and two players can team up locally.
The second brawler in Asterix Maxi Collection Switch, Slap Them All! 2, tells an original story: a Roman emblem has been stolen and an innocent man is imprisoned, and the heroes travel from forest ruins to Lutetia to investigate. New features include a Fury mode, an Ultimate attack for each character, new enemies and bosses, destructible scenery and original animated scenes. Nintendo lists it for 1 to 2 players.

The Platinum Collector’s Extras in Asterix Maxi Collection Switch
What sets the physical Asterix Maxi Collection Switch apart from the digital bundle is the Platinum Edition content. Microids describes it as an exclusive collector’s edition, and its bonus item is a silver figurine of Obelix with Dogmatix holding a stack of Roman helmets, offered only in this edition.
The European Asterix Maxi Collection Switch box carries a PEGI 7 rating for violence, according to Nintendo UK, which reflects the cartoon slapstick of the comics. Nintendo lists English, Spanish, French, German and Italian as the languages, and TV, tabletop and handheld play modes.
A Gift for Asterix Fans
Asterix Maxi Collection Switch suits families who grew up with the comics, children discovering Asterix for the first time and collectors who want the figurine on the shelf. Several games support local co-op, so parents and children can play side by side.
Who This Is Not For
Asterix Maxi Collection Switch contains remasters and earlier releases, so players who already own these Asterix games on Switch get little new apart from the figurine. There is no online multiplayer; co-op is local only and differs by game, from single-player modes to up to 4 players in XXXL. It is rated PEGI 7 for violence. Arabic is not among the official languages. Microids does not publish whether all six games are stored on the game card in this edition.
