India version: what you should know
This is the India-market unit of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 256GB Lavender, imported rather than sourced through Samsung Gulf. Samsung’s India spec sheet lists the same SIM setup and the same 4G and 5G band list as the UAE model. As an import, it is covered by a 1-year warranty from Totot, and we handle any claim directly.
Samsung lists one nano-SIM plus an eSIM, or two eSIMs, and Samsung does not include a charger in the box.
Displays and design
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 256GB Lavender opens to a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display at 1848 × 2448 with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, and closes to a 5.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover display at 1972 × 1248.
Unfolded it measures 123.9 × 161.4 × 4.5 mm, and folded 123.9 × 81.9 × 9.7 mm. Samsung lists 201 g and notes that weight may vary by region. Samsung rates it IP48, tested in up to 1.5 metres of fresh water for up to 30 minutes, and notes that water resistance is not permanent.
Performance and connections
Samsung names the chip as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, an octa-core processor at up to 4.74 GHz. This unit has 12GB of memory and 256GB of storage. Connections include Wi-Fi 7 on 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, UWB and USB-C 3.2 Gen 1.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 256GB Lavender ships with Android 17 and One UI 9, and the Samsung Gulf spec page lists security updates until 31 July 2033.
Cameras
The rear system has two 50 MP cameras: a main camera at f/1.8 and an ultra-wide at f/1.9. There is no telephoto lens. Samsung lists 2x optical-quality zoom from the Adaptive Pixel sensor and digital zoom up to 10x.
The inner and cover selfie cameras are both 10 MP at f/2.2. Video records up to 8K at 30 fps.
Battery and charging
Samsung rates the battery at 4800 mAh typical (4660 mAh rated) and up to 26 hours of video playback under its lab conditions. Samsung’s launch announcement lists up to 63 percent in 30 minutes with a 45 W adapter, and 20 W wireless charging.
The box has no charger, so a 45 W USB-C adapter is needed to reach the fastest wired speed.
Colours and other configurations
Samsung offers the Galaxy Z Fold 8 in Lavender, Graphite, Cream and Pistachio (Pistachio only on Samsung.com). This page is for Lavender with 12GB/256GB.
Other India configurations in stock: 256GB Graphite. If you want a 3x optical telephoto and the larger 8-inch screen, see the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.
Who the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 256GB Lavender is not for
It is not for anyone who spends time on the beach or in sand. The 4 in IP48 only covers solid particles larger than 1 mm, so fine sand and dust can still get in.
It is not for anyone who wants a light phone for one hand: it weighs 201 g and is 9.7 mm thick folded. It is also not for anyone who wants Samsung Gulf service, because this is an imported India unit covered by Totot.
