Mounting on UAE Walls
The Govee Glide Hexa Pro panels mount on the supplied plates with the double-sided adhesive tapes. Govee’s manual says the tapes work on smooth surfaces such as glass or painted wood and are not suitable for uneven, bumpy or wet surfaces, and it recommends pressing the centre of each plate against the wall for more than 30 seconds. On painted plaster, the usual finish in UAE apartments, the tape bonds to the paint, so a fresh or chalky paint layer can peel away with the plate when removed. Plan the layout on the floor first, mark it lightly, and clean the wall of dust before sticking anything.
Who This Is Not For
Anyone who needs Matter or a direct Apple Home connection: the Govee Glide Hexa Pro works through the Govee Home app and the Alexa and Google Assistant links only. Anyone with a 5GHz-only Wi-Fi network: 2.4GHz is required for app control over Wi-Fi. Anyone planning to mount on textured, wallpapered or damp walls: Govee’s adhesive is rated for smooth surfaces.
