The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 is the purifier Xiaomi aims at a normal bedroom, office or living room rather than a whole open-plan floor. Xiaomi’s support pages give a particle CADR of 420 m³/h and a formaldehyde CADR of 150 m³/h, with a recommended room size of 29 to 50 m². The front screen shows PM2.5, PM1, temperature and humidity, a UV-C lamp handles sterilisation, and a negative ion function freshens the air. It is 250 × 250 × 555 mm and weighs about 5.2 kg, light enough to carry between rooms.

CADR and room size: the official figures
Xiaomi’s global support FAQ lists the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 at 420 m³/h particle CADR and 150 m³/h formaldehyde CADR, with a cumulative clean mass (CCM) of 12,000 mg for particles and 600 mg for formaldehyde, and a recommended area of 29 to 50 m². Xiaomi India’s specification page for model AC-M25-SC lists a particle CADR of 443 m³/h and coverage of up to 940 sq ft based on 2 air changes per hour. The two regional pages use different figures, so we show both. For comparison, Xiaomi rates the older Smart Air Purifier 4 at 400 m³/h and 28 to 48 m².

PM1, PM2.5 and five readings on one screen
A laser particle sensor reads PM2.5 and the finer PM1, plus a PM10 dust level on a 1 to 100 scale, and the display also shows temperature and humidity. The screen shows whether UV and negative ions are on and which mode is running. A formaldehyde sensor sits at the back of the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6. When the screen is switched off, Xiaomi says the particle sensor wakes for about 12 to 15 seconds every 2 minutes. Xiaomi treats a PM2.5 difference of up to 10% between two units as normal, and gives PM10 a ±20% margin, so readings are a guide rather than a lab instrument.

Filter, UV-C lamp and negative ions
The filter is an integrated antibacterial and antiviral composite cylinder with activated carbon, and Xiaomi expects it to last about 6 to 12 months depending on air quality and use. An RFID tag resets the filter-life count when a new filter goes in, and a reminder appears at 10% remaining. Xiaomi says the filter is compatible with the Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4; both are cylindrical, and they are wider than earlier standard-version filters, so they do not fit older models. Xiaomi recommends cleaning the pre-filter monthly. The UV-C lamp is on by default, and the negative ion output is rated at one million ions per cm³, with ozone output Xiaomi describes as extremely low and within national standards.

Noise, motor and placement
A DC brushless motor gives stepless fan control. In Sleep Mode Xiaomi quotes 32 dB(A) with a purification rate of 30 m³/h, quiet enough for a bedroom; at full speed the maximum is 64 dB(A), which you will hear clearly. Xiaomi India lists 40 W rated power and a 200–240 V, 50/60 Hz supply. The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 must stand upright, with at least 20 cm of clear space behind it and on each side, so do not push it tight against a wall or tuck it into a cabinet. Xiaomi’s sample timings from the India page are 3.5 minutes for 108 sq ft and 12 minutes for 400 sq ft.

Xiaomi Home app and voice control
The purifier joins Wi-Fi and is controlled from the Xiaomi Home app, where you change modes, set schedules and check filter life. Xiaomi notes it supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only, with WPA or WPA2; 5 GHz, WEP, static IP, web-login and 802.1X enterprise networks are not supported. Voice commands cover on, off, Manual, Auto and Sleep, and Xiaomi India lists Google Home and Alexa. Apple HomeKit is not supported. The box contains the purifier, one filter, a power cord and the user manual.

Who This Is Not For
The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 is not for large open-plan spaces: Xiaomi recommends 29 to 50 m², and a bigger room needs a higher-CADR purifier. It is not for Apple HomeKit users, since HomeKit is not supported, or for homes with only 5 GHz Wi-Fi. At full speed it reaches 64 dB(A). It needs 20 cm of clearance behind and at the sides, and its filter does not fit older Xiaomi purifiers, so replacement filters are a recurring cost every 6 to 12 months.
