The Bucket of Axolotl Mug from Paladone turns a Minecraft inventory item into a real mug. In the game, players catch an axolotl with a bucket of water and carry it around; this ceramic mug copies that item, with a square grey bucket body, pixel-style edges and a pink axolotl peeking over the front. Paladone lists the capacity as 400ml (13 fl oz) and describes it as made for drinks during gaming breaks. It is an officially licensed Minecraft product, and Paladone states that it is not suitable for dishwasher or microwave use.

The Minecraft bucket, in ceramic
The Bucket of Axolotl Mug keeps the blocky look of the game. The body is a square bucket with stepped, pixel-style corners in grey, and the pink axolotl with its gills sits at the top of the front face, raised above the rim like it does in the item icon. The blue water and the black pixel outlines are painted on, and a square handle sits on the side to match the block shape. Because Minecraft art is already built from simple squares, the design translates cleanly into a real object, so anyone who plays recognises it straight away.
400ml capacity
Paladone lists the capacity as 400ml, or 13 fl oz. That is a little larger than a standard mug, enough for a full cup of tea, coffee with milk or a hot chocolate. The square shape also means the mug sits steady on a desk next to a keyboard or controller. Note that a square rim is less comfortable to drink from than a round one at first, and the corners need a little care when you wipe them. For most players it is a mug for one generous drink during an evening session.
Care: hand wash only
Paladone states that the Bucket of Axolotl Mug is not suitable for dishwasher or microwave use. Wash it by hand in warm soapy water with a soft sponge and dry it with a towel so water does not leave marks in the corners and around the raised axolotl. Avoid scourers on the painted pixels. To warm a drink, heat it in a kettle or a microwave-safe cup and then pour it in. Looked after this way, the colours stay bright and the ceramic stays in good shape.
Official Minecraft merchandise
Paladone is a UK company that designs licensed gifts for gaming, film and TV brands, and this mug is an officially licensed Minecraft product. The axolotl is one of the most popular mobs since it arrived in the Caves and Cliffs update, and the bucket item is how players collect and move them, so the design speaks directly to people who play. Officially licensed merchandise means the design is approved by the game’s owner, not a rough copy of the pixel art.
A gift for Minecraft players
The Bucket of Axolotl Mug works as a birthday, Eid or back-to-school gift for Minecraft players of all ages, from children who play on a tablet to adults who still run a survival world. It is something they will use every day rather than leave in a box. Pair it with other Paladone Minecraft pieces, such as lights or playing cards, for a themed gift set. For younger children, an adult should handle hot drinks, as with any ceramic mug.
Who This Is Not For
The Bucket of Axolotl Mug is not for anyone who needs a dishwasher-safe or microwave-safe mug: Paladone says it is suitable for neither. The square rim and corners feel different from a round mug and take more care to clean. It is ceramic, so it can break if dropped, which matters for young children, and it is not designed to keep drinks hot like an insulated travel mug.
