The Astro A20 X is a wireless gaming headset from Logitech G built for people who play on more than one system. Its PLAYSYNC base connects to two systems at once, any pair of PS5, Xbox, PC and Nintendo Switch, and a tap of the PLAYSYNC button moves the headset from one to the other. Logitech lists 40 mm PRO-G drivers, 24-bit LIGHTSPEED wireless, Bluetooth 5.3, a 48 kHz boom microphone, a weight of 290 g and battery life of up to 40 hours with the default lighting or up to 90 hours with the lighting off. This is the black version.

PLAYSYNC: one headset, two systems
Most wireless headsets lock you to one console, or make you choose between a PlayStation and an Xbox version. The Astro A20 X solves this with the PLAYSYNC base in the box: you connect it to two systems with the two included 1.8 m USB-C to USB-A cables, then tap the PLAYSYNC button to move the audio between them. Logitech says any two combinations of PS5, Xbox, PC and Nintendo Switch work, for example an Xbox in the living room and a gaming PC on the desk. Nintendo Switch 2 support needs a firmware update through G HUB on Windows or macOS first.

24-bit LIGHTSPEED and Bluetooth 5.3
The main link is LIGHTSPEED, Logitech’s 2.4 GHz wireless. Logitech states the base handles up to 24-bit/48 kHz audio on a PC and up to 16-bit/48 kHz on a console, with a wireless range of up to 30 metres. Bluetooth 5.3 is there for phones, tablets and other devices, and the headset can also run over a USB cable. Logitech does not list a 3.5 mm analogue input for the Astro A20 X, so older controllers with a headphone jack are not an option.

40 mm PRO-G drivers and MixAmp balance
Inside each ear cup is a 40 mm PRO-G driver with a biocellulose diaphragm, which Logitech says uses its live edge technology for precise, clear sound; the stated frequency response is 20 Hz to 20 kHz. MixAmp technology, taken from Astro’s console amplifiers, lets you balance game audio against voice chat on the fly, turning down footsteps to hear your squad or the reverse. G HUB on PC and the Logitech G mobile app add EQ presets and per-game profiles.

48 kHz boom mic with Blue VO!CE
The detachable boom microphone uses an omnidirectional pickup and Logitech lists it as a 48 kHz full-bandwidth mic with a 70 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response. A small LED inside the mic arm lights when you are muted, so you know whether your team can hear you. Through G HUB, Blue VO!CE filters can clean up your voice or add effects for Discord. Because the pickup is omnidirectional, a quiet room helps more than with a cardioid mic.

290 g, RGB and up to 90 hours
Logitech gives the weight as 290 g, with memory foam ear pads and a suspension headband. The Astro A20 X is also the first Astro headset with LIGHTSYNC RGB: 16.8 million colours across 8 zones, plus an Astro-styled default look. Lighting costs battery: Logitech quotes up to 40 hours at the default lighting setting and up to 90 hours with the lighting off. A charging adapter is not included; charge it from a USB port with the supplied cable.

Who This Is Not For
The Astro A20 X is not for anyone who needs a 3.5 mm wired connection, since Logitech lists only LIGHTSPEED, Bluetooth and USB. The omnidirectional mic picks up more room noise than a cardioid mic, the PLAYSYNC base needs USB ports on both systems, and Switch 2 use needs a firmware update first. The RGB lighting cuts battery life by more than half, and there is no active noise cancellation.
