The Death on the Nile Limited Edition is Microids’ collector’s package of Agatha Christie – Death on the Nile for Nintendo Switch. Alongside the full game, Microids lists a 48-page artbook, The Art of Death on the Nile, with a bookmark, and a digital soundtrack. The game itself is a modern reimagining of Christie’s novel, moved to the 1970s, in which you play both Hercule Poirot and a new detective, Jane Royce. Our copy is the European release with the PEGI 12 label on the front.

What Is in the Death on the Nile Limited Edition
Microids announced the Limited Edition with three items: the full Agatha Christie – Death on the Nile game, a 48-page artbook called The Art of Death on the Nile with a bookmark, and a digital soundtrack. The product photo shows the bookmark styled as a Karnak ticket. The soundtrack is digital, so there is no music CD in the box.
The game launched on 25 September 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and PC, developed by Microids Studio Lyon and published by Microids. The Death on the Nile Limited Edition we sell is the Nintendo Switch version.
A 1970s Reimagining With Two Detectives
Microids describes the game as a modern reimagining set against a 1970s backdrop, an era it calls one of social transformation marked by the rise of feminism, civil rights movements and cultural liberation. So the Death on the Nile Limited Edition is not a period adaptation of the novel’s original era; the story, the cast and the look are updated.
You play two characters. Hercule Poirot is on board when a peaceful Nile cruise is disrupted by a terrible crime, while a private detective, Jane Royce, pursues her own investigation. Nintendo’s listing names locations including the Nile cruise, Majorca, London and Cairo, and Microids says both storylines converge at Abu Simbel, with surprises for long-time Christie fans and newcomers alike.
How the Investigation Works
The detective work rests on two systems that Microids and Nintendo both describe. A dynamic mindmap is where you collect facts and connect them into deductions, and you build detailed profiles of suspects and witnesses through dialogue and observation. A Confrontation System then lets you use the evidence you have gathered to uncover lies, reveal motives and expose the truth.
Nintendo files the game under puzzle and adventure. The screenshots in the gallery show 3D environments where you walk your detective around, question characters and review clues on the mindmap screen, and the Death on the Nile Limited Edition contains exactly the same game as the standard release.
Players, Languages and Rating on Switch
Agatha Christie – Death on the Nile is single-player. Nintendo lists TV, tabletop and handheld modes, a 6.1 GB download size for the eShop version, and text in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Chinese; Arabic is not supported. The rating is PEGI 12 with descriptors for bad language, horror and violence, which matches the label on the Death on the Nile Limited Edition box.
The physical edition is a European release from Microids. Nintendo recommends region-matched software but states that Switch games from other regions work on Switch consoles, with mainland China as the exception.
Who This Is Not For
The Death on the Nile Limited Edition is not for players who want a faithful 1930s adaptation: the setting is deliberately moved to the 1970s and a new main character, Jane Royce, shares the story with Poirot. It is not for action fans either, since progress depends on reading, questioning and deduction, and there is no multiplayer. The PEGI 12 rating, with horror and violence descriptors, makes it unsuitable for young children, and there is no Arabic text. If you only want the game, the standard edition costs less and plays the same.
