The HUAWEI WiFi BE3 is a dual-band Wi-Fi 7 router for homes that have outgrown a basic ISP router. HUAWEI quotes theoretical rates of 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 2882 Mbps on 5 GHz, 3570 Mbps combined, which it rounds to 3.6 Gbps, and adds Wi-Fi 7 features such as Multi-Link Operation and 4K QAM. The wired side is strong for the price: one 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port and three gigabit ports, all adaptive WAN/LAN. Keep in mind that it is a dual-band router with no 6 GHz band.

Wi-Fi 7 on two bands
HUAWEI lists the HUAWEI WiFi BE3 as IEEE 802.11be on both bands with 2×2 MIMO, backward compatible with 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax. With Wi-Fi 7 devices the theoretical rates are 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 2882 Mbps on 5 GHz; with Wi-Fi 6 devices they are 574 Mbps and 2402 Mbps, 2976 Mbps in total. These are link rates under ideal conditions, not what one device will download. Real throughput depends on your internet plan, the Wi-Fi chip in your phone or laptop, the distance and the walls between you and the router. Some sellers label it AX3000, a Wi-Fi 6 speed class, but HUAWEI describes it as a Wi-Fi 7 router.

What MLO and 4K QAM add
Multi-Link Operation lets a compatible Wi-Fi 7 phone or laptop use the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands at the same time. HUAWEI says MLO raises speed by 48% and cuts latency by up to 50%, the latency figure being a best case under strong 2.4 GHz interference compared with its Wi-Fi 6 AX3. 4K QAM packs more data into each transmission than the 1024 QAM of Wi-Fi 6, and HUAWEI quotes 120% faster data transfer against a theoretical 5 GHz rate with 1024 QAM. Multi-RU and preamble puncturing move data from congested to idle parts of the channel, which helps in apartment blocks full of neighbouring networks. HUAWEI publishes no figures for those two features.

Ports, memory and power
The HUAWEI WiFi BE3 has one Ethernet port at 10/100/1000/2500 Mbps and three at 10/100/1000 Mbps, and every port is adaptive WAN/LAN, so you can plug the internet line into any of them. The 2.5 Gbps port is useful when your fibre plan is faster than 1 Gbps, or as a fast link to a NAS or desktop PC. Inside there is 256 MB of RAM and 128 MB of ROM, plus a dedicated network processor that HUAWEI says lowers CPU load; it gives no numbers for it. The 12 V / 1 A adapter accepts 100–240 V AC at 50–60 Hz, which suits UAE mains, and the router draws under 12 W.

Coverage and placement
HUAWEI says independent signal amplifiers improve coverage by 30% at medium and long range, compared with routers without an amplifier. In a villa with concrete walls, one HUAWEI WiFi BE3 will still have limits, so place it centrally and in the open, not inside a cabinet. The antenna folds: the router measures 148.8 × 215 × 71.5 mm folded and 280 × 215 × 61.5 mm with the antenna raised, and weighs about 436 g. HUAWEI rates it for 0 to 40 °C and 5% to 95% non-condensing humidity, so keep it out of a hot outdoor cupboard or a closed TV unit.

Setup, security and parental controls
HUAWEI says the router can be configured in three steps out of the box. The HUAWEI AI Life app adds remote management, Wi-Fi diagnosis and parental controls that limit time online and block harmful sites. Under HUAWEI HomeSec the HUAWEI WiFi BE3 offers Wi-Fi anti-brute-force protection, anti-scraping network protection and WPA3. The specification sheet also lists guest Wi-Fi, VPN passthrough and DMZ or virtual server, which covers most home needs such as a separate network for visitors or opening a port for a game console. In the box you get the router, the power adapter, a 1 m Ethernet cable, a user guide and a warranty card.
Who This Is Not For
The HUAWEI WiFi BE3 has no 6 GHz band, so it cannot offer the clean 6 GHz channels of tri-band Wi-Fi 7 routers. Most of its Wi-Fi 7 gains need Wi-Fi 7 devices; older phones connect as Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 5 clients. HUAWEI does not list mesh networking or a maximum number of connected devices on the UAE specification page, so do not plan a multi-unit mesh system around it. A large villa over several floors will likely need more than one access point. And at 280 mm tall with the antenna raised, it needs shelf space.
