The HUAWEI WATCH D2 Black is a smartwatch built around one feature most watches cannot offer: a small airbag cuff inside the strap that inflates to measure blood pressure on the wrist, the same oscillometric method used by home arm monitors. Huawei calls it a wrist ambulatory blood pressure monitor, and it can run a 24-hour plan that keeps measuring while you work and sleep. Around that sit a 1.82-inch AMOLED display, ECG analysis from a side electrode, sleep and SpO2 tracking, and Bluetooth calls. This version pairs the aluminium alloy case with a black fluoroelastomer strap, the sporty, everyday option in the range.

Blood pressure from a cuff in the strap
Most smartwatches estimate blood pressure from light sensors. The HUAWEI WATCH D2 Black instead uses an ultra-narrow cuff built into the strap: start a reading, the airbag inflates around your wrist, and the watch measures by the oscillometric method. Huawei shows the standard posture on the watch, with the wrist held at heart level. Huawei also notes that only about 10% of blood pressure devices on the market are approved by STRIDE BP, and lists the WATCH D2 among them. Readings are for reference: Huawei states plainly that you should never diagnose yourself or change medication based on them. Take the results to your doctor instead.

24-hour ambulatory monitoring (ABPM)
The second blood pressure mode is a 24-hour automatic plan. The HUAWEI WATCH D2 Black measures at intervals through the day and night, including while you sleep, then shows daytime, night-time and 24-hour averages. That pattern is often more useful to a doctor than a single reading in a clinic, where many people measure higher than at home. ABPM costs battery: Huawei rates the HUAWEI WATCH D2 Black at up to 1 day with ABPM every 15 minutes, against up to 6 days in typical use. Plan ABPM days in advance and charge the watch first.

ECG, arrhythmia alerts and sleep
Hold a finger on the electrode on the side for 30 seconds and the watch records a beat-by-beat ECG. A separate pulse-wave analysis uses the optical sensor to flag possible atrial fibrillation and premature beats. At night the HUAWEI WATCH D2 Black tracks heart rate, SpO2, breathing rate and abnormal breathing. Huawei marks these features as not intended for medical use and says some, including ECG, are supported only in certain markets, so availability on your watch depends on region and software. SpO2, stress, skin temperature estimates and 80+ exercise modes complete the health set.

Black fluoroelastomer strap: who it suits
The black strap is fluoroelastomer, a soft, sweat-resistant rubber that wipes clean after a walk or a session at the gym and does not mind humid UAE summers. It is the safest choice if you will wear the HUAWEI WATCH D2 Black round the clock for ABPM, because it handles sleep, hand-washing and outdoor heat better than leather. Visually it is discreet: matt black with the dark case suits office wear, sportswear and a kandura alike. The box includes both M (130-160 mm) and L (161-210 mm) airbag straps, so measure your wrist with the included ruler before the first reading.

Display, calls and battery in daily use
The 1.82-inch AMOLED panel runs at 480 x 408 pixels, large enough to read blood pressure graphs and messages at a glance. A speaker and microphone handle Bluetooth calls from a paired phone, and NFC is built in. Huawei rates the HUAWEI WATCH D2 Black at up to 6 days in typical use, a test that includes six blood pressure and five ECG readings a day, always-on heart rate, sleep tracking and notifications. Charging is wireless on the included cradle. The HUAWEI WATCH D2 Black works with Android 8.0 or later and iOS 13.0 or later through the HUAWEI Health app.

Who This Is Not For
The HUAWEI WATCH D2 Black is not a swimming watch: Huawei rates it IP68 but says it is not designed for swimming or immersion, hot showers or saunas. It is not a medical device replacement, and readings must not guide medication. Huawei does not list GPS in the specifications. Battery drops to about 1 day with 24-hour ABPM, and some health features, including ECG, depend on market availability.
