The Insta360 Flow Pro is a three-axis smartphone gimbal that smooths out hand shake while you walk and film, and follows the person in front of the camera automatically with Deep Track 3.0. Two things set it apart from the standard Flow: a pan axis that rotates 360° continuously without stopping, and Apple DockKit support, which lets tracking work inside the iPhone’s own Camera app. It has a 215 mm built-in extension rod and a built-in tripod, and its 2900 mAh battery runs for about 10 hours under Insta360’s test conditions.

Three-axis stabilisation and endless 360° pan
The Insta360 Flow Pro uses three motors to handle pan, tilt and roll, keeping footage steady as you walk or move. Insta360 lists the pan axis as 360° continuous rotation, roll from −150° to 180° and tilt from −100° to 82°, with a maximum control speed of 120° per second. Endless pan matters when your subject moves in a full circle around the phone, as in a fitness class, a cooking demo or a meeting, because tracking never stops at the end of a mechanical range. Working modes include Auto, Follow, Pan Follow and FPV.
Deep Track 3.0 and gesture control
In the Insta360 app you can pick a person, a pet or an object for the gimbal to follow. Insta360 says Deep Track 3.0 stays locked on the chosen subject even if something blocks it for a moment, recognises it from different angles, and, if it leaves the frame, follows its direction or zooms out to find it again. For solo filming, raise your hand to start recording and tracking, and raise it again to stop. Creative modes in the app include TimeShift, Motion Timelapse, Dolly Zoom and Barrel Roll, plus 360°, 240° and 180° panoramas.
Apple DockKit: tracking in the iPhone Camera app
With the Insta360 Flow Pro you do not need a special app for tracking on iPhone. Mount the phone in the magnetic clamp and tap the iPhone to the gimbal for one-tap NFC pairing, which connects through DockKit and reconnects automatically afterwards. Tracking then works in Video mode in the native Camera app, and Insta360 says it has tested more than 200 iOS apps, including meeting, live-streaming and video-call apps, though behaviour depends on each app’s developer. DockKit needs an iPhone 12 or later with MagSafe and iOS 17 or later. Note that DockKit tracks people only; pets and objects are tracked through the Insta360 app.
Built-in rod, tripod and folding design
Folded, the gimbal measures 79.6 × 162.1 × 36 mm, small enough for a little bag, and it reaches 269.4 mm long when unfolded. Inside is a 215 mm extension rod for group selfies, plus a built-in tripod that extends to 80 mm so you can stand it on a table and film hands-free. The phone attaches with a magnetic clamp of about 32 g, and the Insta360 Flow Pro itself weighs about 366 g. A SmartWheel on the handle controls zoom and movement without touching the screen.
Battery, charging and compatibility
The 2900 mAh battery runs for about 10 hours, a figure Insta360 measured at 25 °C with the gimbal fully balanced on a level surface, so expect less with lots of movement or a heavy phone. Charging takes about 2 hours over USB-C with a 5V/2A adapter. The gimbal can also top up your phone from its battery, but Insta360 does not publish the output for this. It accepts phones weighing 130 to 300 g, 6.9 to 10 mm thick and 64 to 84 mm wide. It connects over Bluetooth 5.0 and works with Android phones through the Insta360 app; NFC pairing is not yet available on Android.
Who This Is Not For
The Insta360 Flow Pro is not for phones heavier than 300 g or thicker than 10 mm with their case, which is outside Insta360’s published limits. Android users do not get tracking in the native camera app, because that relies on DockKit on iPhone; they use the Insta360 app instead. Insta360 lists no water resistance, and the operating range is −10 °C to 40 °C, so do not leave it in a closed car under the summer sun. At about 366 g it is heavier than small pocket gimbals.
