The Marshall Milton ANC Black is Marshall’s on-ear wireless headphone with adaptive active noise cancellation, shown here in the all-black finish with brass Marshall script. Marshall rates it at 50+ hours of playtime with ANC on and 80 hours with ANC off, adds Bluetooth 6.0 with LDAC, and keeps the weight to 200 g. What the Marshall Milton ANC Black Is Built For
Marshall positions Milton A.N.C. between two familiar models. Like the Major V it is a compact on-ear headphone that folds small, but it adds adaptive noise cancelling, adaptive loudness and Soundstage spatial audio that the Major V lacks. Compared with the over-ear Monitor III A.N.C., Marshall says Milton is lighter and, because it rests on the ear rather than around it, lets the ear breathe and stays cooler.
That makes the Marshall Milton ANC Black a commuter and office headphone: the metro, a bus ride, an open-plan floor or a short flight. Marshall enlarged the ear cushions compared with Major V to improve both isolation and comfort for longer sessions.

Adaptive ANC and Transparency on the Marshall Milton ANC Black
In the Marshall Milton ANC Black, six microphones monitor the sound around you, and the adaptive ANC adjusts its cancelling in real time. Marshall says it works best on low-frequency noise such as engines, air-conditioning and the hum of an open office, while you can still notice when someone nearby calls your name.
Press the M-button once to switch between ANC and Transparency mode; a sound confirms each change. If you prefer neither, you can set ANC to off in the Marshall Bluetooth app. Adaptive loudness raises bass and lower mids when noise creeps in or the volume is low, so the music keeps its body.
Battery Life You Count in Days
Marshall lists the Marshall Milton ANC Black at 50+ hours with Bluetooth and ANC, and 80 hours with Bluetooth only. That is more than three full days and nights of playback, or several weeks of daily commutes. When you do run low, 15 minutes of charging gives 9.5 hours, and a full charge takes 2 hours over USB-C. Wireless charging is not supported.
The battery can be exchanged, Marshall sells it as a spare part, and Battery Preservation in the app limits charging to protect the cell over time.

Bluetooth 6.0, LDAC and Wired Listening
The Marshall Milton ANC Black uses Bluetooth 6.0 with a 10 m range and multipoint, so a phone and a laptop can stay connected together. The codec list is SBC, AAC, LC3 and LDAC. Over SBC, AAC and LC3 the frequency range is 20 Hz to 20 kHz; with LDAC at 96 kHz Marshall quotes 20 Hz to 40 kHz. LDAC only works when your phone supports it.
Inside each cup is a 32 mm dynamic driver with 99.3 dB SPL sensitivity (1 mW at 1 kHz) and 32 ohms impedance. For wired listening, Marshall lists USB-C to 3.5 mm, and a 3.5 mm audio cord is in the box.

Controls, Soundstage and the Black Finish
The control knob handles playback, volume and calls. The M-button can be set to one of these: ANC, Transparency mode, Soundstage spatial audio, EQ settings, Spotify Tap or voice assistant. Soundstage widens the sound so it feels as if the band is around you rather than inside your head.
The Marshall Milton ANC Black is the understated choice: it goes with suits and hoodies alike, and it hides daily scuffs. Marshall also makes Milton A.N.C. in Brown and Cream. The design is foldable and repairable, with ear cushions and the battery sold as spare parts, and Marshall commits to at least 2 years of software updates after the product was last sold.
Who This Is Not For
If maximum isolation on long-haul flights is the goal, an over-ear model seals better; Marshall itself says the on-ear Marshall Milton ANC Black lets you still hear people calling you. Marshall does not list a water-resistance rating, so it is not made for workouts in the rain. There is no wireless charging, and LDAC needs a compatible phone.
