Razer BlackShark V3 Pro Counter-Strike 2 Edition: the design
Razer released this edition as part of its Counter-Strike 2 collection, which Razer themes around the Dragon Lore. The earcups and headband carry that artwork in warm tan and gold tones instead of the plain black or white of the standard models, so the headset is a collector piece for CS2 players as much as a tool.
The design is the only thing that changes. The core hardware Razer lists for this edition, from the drivers and microphone to the connections and battery, is that of the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro, and there is no RGB lighting.
Which version this is: PC and PlayStation, not Xbox
Razer sells the BlackShark V3 Pro in several platform versions, including a separate BlackShark V3 Pro for Xbox. This Counter-Strike 2 Edition, part number RZ04-05400800-R3M1, lists PS5 and PS4, PC and Mac, and smartphones, tablets and handheld gaming devices with Bluetooth audio, a USB-A port or a 3.5 mm jack.
Xbox is not on its compatibility list. If you play mainly on Xbox, this is the wrong version to buy.
Four ways to connect, two at the same time
The Razer BlackShark V3 Pro connects over HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2 (2.4 GHz) through its USB dongle, over Bluetooth, over a USB cable or through a 3.5 mm jack. The 2.4 GHz link and Bluetooth can run together: double-tap the SmartSwitch button to enter simultaneous audio and hear your game and your phone at once.
The LED on the left earcup shows the mode: green for 2.4 GHz, blue for Bluetooth and white for simultaneous audio. When a call arrives on your phone in simultaneous mode, the microphone switches to the Bluetooth call.
Drivers, THX Spatial Audio and EQ presets
Razer’s TriForce Bio-Cellulose 50 mm Drivers Gen-2 cover 12 Hz to 28 kHz, with 32-ohm impedance and a sensitivity of 108 dBSPL/mW at 1 kHz. A single press of the SmartSwitch button cycles EQ presets such as Game, Movie, Music and Esports, and the control dial can adjust Footstep Boost, game/chat balance or mic monitoring.
THX Spatial Audio adds 7.1.4 virtual surround, but Razer states it is only available on Windows 11 version 23H2 or higher. On PS5, Mac and phones you get the headset’s stereo sound.
Hybrid ANC, the HyperClear mic and comfort
The ANC button cycles between ANC On, Ambient Mode and ANC Off, so you can shut out a noisy room during a match or let voices in between rounds. The detachable Razer HyperClear Full Band 12 mm microphone is unidirectional with a 20 Hz to 20 kHz response, and a toggle mutes it instantly.
The Razer BlackShark V3 Pro weighs 367 g. Oval ear cushions of dual-layered FlowKnit memory foam have an inner opening of 45 x 66 mm, and the earcups swivel to follow the shape of your head.
Battery of the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro, with conditions
Razer rates the battery at up to 70 hours over the 2.4 GHz connection. It does not publish separate figures with ANC on, over Bluetooth or in simultaneous mode, and those all use more power, so plan on less than 70 hours in those modes.
Charging is over USB-C. Razer says a full charge takes about 4 hours, and a 15-minute charge gives roughly 6 hours of play.
Who This Is Not For
Xbox players, because this edition does not list Xbox support. Buyers who want the lightest possible esports headset, since 367 g is on the heavier side. Mac and console players who expect THX Spatial Audio, which works only on Windows 11 23H2 or later.
Anyone who wants RGB lighting, which this headset does not have, or a published battery figure with ANC on. And if the Counter-Strike 2 artwork does not matter to you, the standard Razer BlackShark V3 Pro offers the same core hardware.
